If someone breaks in, you know just what gun you are going to go for and that's the one that is protecting your home. @Superchickenman159 actually a .45 would be much more efficient than a 9mm seeing as the .45 has much more knock down power than the 9mm. if you get hit with the 9mm you may not necessarily go down, where as if you get hit with a .45 youre hitting the floor, especially in close quarters as would be experienced in the event of a home invasion. silly non-american ;)

@BladePi well hang on there. no one pistol round is going to drop someone in one hit. i own the .45 1911 and i can honestly say i like it more than any other semi-automatic pistol. but the thing about 9mms is that they're more controllable for the people who can't handle the .45. i still think i would prefer a .40 over a 9mm but the only reason i'd own a 9mm is because the pistol can be made smaller. and then even there, i'd probably go with a wheel gun... .44 special or .38 special.

I went to the Canadian web site, it said to dismantle all weapons, place in separate parts of the auto, and declare them at the border, I did and got arrested, the US Customs agents saved my ass!

personally i dont think a 22 is good for self defense i want something that will drop them the first shot not tickle them and only make them more angry my remington 870 is plenty holds 7 rounds and some triple ought buckshot will do the trick nicely :)

Good shot placement is the ONLY factor which will "drop them the first shot". .45ACP or .22LR, if you hit the heart or another vital organ they will fall where they stand. Blowing off a guys arm might seem pretty sure to drop them, but given the cocaine and methamphetamine usage by criminals these days, I'll take a well placed shot to the heart over blowing off limbs any day of the week. A high caliber won't always make up for bad shot placement!!
