I'm very grateful that I came to the conclusion of atheism in a more positive manner. It was never the sufferings of the world that led me there, I was somehow always able to rationalize those when I was a believer. For me it was simply the slow progression of logic: as a mainstream Xtian, I realized that I was picking and choosing what felt right instead of accepting the hard truth of the Bible. This led me to fundamentalism. (Fucking character limit... continued in next post.) :-)
Later, I realized it took just as much mental gymnastics to accept the Bible as inerrant, ignore the contradictions (especially the equally "saved" and sincere people's bitter debates on fundamental dogma) as it ever did to pick and choose verses. After a time of plain agnosticism, I came to the realization that the only reason I ever believed in any kind of god was that the god Yahweh was part of the religion I was raised in. After letting go of the Xtian packaging, god naturally followed.
To summ up (in my 3rd fucking post, holy crap!), coming to the conclusion that there is no god was like waking up from this mind-numbing delusion. I was so glad to finally be free from my own mental shackles!
Now that I'm on the other side, even though the tragedies of the world didn't push me toward my disbelief, I have to say that if there were some kind of Yahweh-like god watching over and guiding everything... yeah, he'd have to be one nasty fucker!
I always find it interesting that everyone always blames God for how the world is. God created man in his own image, body spirit and soul. Free will and creativity and all the other things within it. The original sin was pride, a sin commited by Lucifer, by satan. God created the earth as a paradise and man to rule over it. I'm not going to disagree with anything you said, but please hear this: I'm pretty sure that in Galatians, Paul mentioned that if you don't know the word of God you'll be judged by the law of your heart. I guess you've already been "exposed" to the Bible, but it sounds to me like God would judge you by what /you/ think is right and wrong if you don't believe in Him. Take care.

So, I look at it like this: maybe God isn't answering these questions because I probably couldn't handle the answer/not read to hear it. Maybe I'll never be ready to hear it. This is the only explanation that helps me understand why He's not giving me an answer. I've been told that God allowed it so I would have compassion on others who've been through it, but that doesn't explain why ANYONE has to endure that (continued).

I believe it's really better that we are free to choose our own way, even if that does mean that some people will choose to do evil things towards other human beings. At least we are not being controlled, or programmed like a robot. And if someone chooses to believe in God, or believe that scientists are all knowing, I guess they are free to do that as well. If everything was explainable, then life would have no purpose, if everything was unexplainable, life would be purposeless as well. The only way life has any purpose is that its both explainable, and un explainable at the same time. As a former Catholic (and hated every day that I was one), here's what I personally believe about "God": 1. "God" is a spirit energy, not a person. 2. "God" is both of male and female energy, and good and evil. (there has to be both positive and negative energies to create balance). Humans are a reflection of this God energy, therefore since God is of both positive and negative energy, so are humans. 3. Prayers are useless. Applying positive healing energy to onesself or another works better.

Hi again Ariana, I was wondering if you or anyone you know has read the book The Holy Blood The holy Grail. The book, amoung other things puts across the idea that Jesus was not the son of God, he was just a man.
I haven't really been a regular church goer since I was 15yo. In that time I have to admit I've experienced an increasing amount of doubt as to wether or not God actually exists. I've come to the conclusion that blind faith is not enough (at least not for me).
I remember when I was a child, about 10-12 (I think). I statrted to think about God the Devil, Heaven & Hell one night while trying to get to sleep (don't ask me why).
I thought about what would happen when my time came, wether I would go to Heaven or Hell. Now keeping in mind I was just a kid, I have to admit, I scared the s**t out of myself!

God does not exist. Existence exits, and only existence exists. In other words existence is a primary. So to believe in God, you must do it by openly denying reason, saying flatly "To Hell with argument, I have faith."
Christian God equals a vile being not really worthy of worship...and it makes more sense if you look at Gnostic Christianity, in which the creator God was an insane, petulant child never meant to create anything but did anyway...and created a horrible, chaotic, insane world. And the shift from wrath to redemption from the old to new testaments is based on a differeny God-being taking control and trying to reassert order and what not to a flawed universe never meant to exist.
Also; I agree that the God presented in the Bible is not worthy of being worshiped assuming God of the Bible, in fact all knowing. If not all knowing, or if S/He chose to create with a self imposed blindness to Hir creation that S/He could still be surprised and see what would come of these beings, that sheds a whole other light on the idea, I feel, and really would make it all more man's fault for mucking things up.
I say the human transcription and description of god was flawed - because our language still can't cope with a God said to be omnipotent, flawless, omniscient, etc, etc.

I believe God exists and I seem to be one of the FEW trans people who do. My situation of being trans is HORRIBLE, I agree, but MANY other prayers have been answered for me. I'm very grateful that I came to the conclusion of atheism in a more positive manner. It was never the sufferings of the world that led me there, I was somehow always able to rationalize those when I was a believer. For me it was simply the slow progression of logic: as a mainstream Xtian, I realized that I was picking and choosing what felt right instead of accepting the hard truth of the Bible. Later, I realized it took just as much mental gymnastics to accept the Bible as inerrant, ignore the contradictions (especially the equally "saved" and sincere people's bitter debates on fundamental dogma) as it ever did to pick and choose verses. After a time of plain agnosticism, I came to the realization that the only reason I ever believed in any kind of god was that the god Yahweh was part of the religion I was raised in. After letting go of the Xtian packaging, god naturally followed.

So, I look at it like this: maybe God isn't answering these questions because I probably couldn't handle the answer/not read to hear it. Maybe I'll never be ready to hear it. This is the only explanation that helps me understand why He's not giving me an answer. I've been told that God allowed it so I would have compassion on others who've been through it, but that doesn't explain why ANYONE has to endure that (continued).

I believe it's really better that we are free to choose our own way, even if that does mean that some people will choose to do evil things towards other human beings. At least we are not being controlled, or programmed like a robot. And if someone chooses to believe in God, or believe that scientists are all knowing, I guess they are free to do that as well. I think it might just be best if we speak our opinion and then let others be who they want to be.

The bible I do not think was ever meant to teach one how to live, it was meant to teach one how to love. One's self, and one another, and some point in time, it became more a tool of destructive immorality, then constructive morality. I came with a little law of My own:
Good and Bad Coexist
Light and Darkness Coexist
Body and Spirit Coexist
Reality and Fantasy Coexist
I therefore rationalized that Since I'm an existing, something that made my very spirit must have to exist as well. This is what I call God, not the guy In the Heavens who send angels to do miracles. If everything was explainable, then life would have no purpose, if everything was unexplainable, life would be purposeless as well. The only way life has any purpose is that its both explainable, and un explainable at the same time. This is where my mind gets confusing, and starts to break down into tiny micro sayings(logics) that can go on to an infinite degree, but the basic thing I try to teach is that things could never exist without it's negative , positive, and (im/possible) particles.

You are right. Satan is a Christian fabrication. Satan is a Christian's scapegoat. "The devil made me do it!" That's what dumbass Christians say because they don't want to take responsibility.. but then again... if Satan made you do it.. where's the free will?

What's really sad is that people often see God in the same light as how they see their parents, and if their parents abused or rejected them, they think God is like that too. "God the Father"...they view God as a "parent" similar to their parents.

I can go around hating my life, or I can do something about it. Truely, I find it a blessing I'm not able to have a child of my own; It would only blind me from the real thing that matters, and the one thing that makes me different from most people today. I love to love people, not sexually. Sure my heartaches when I realize I'll never have my own genetic baby, but look at how many babies are dying, look how many teen moms are out there neglecting their children, using em as trophies.

When you start to see God as a golden man in a chair.. I think that's when you start to lose what "God" really is. He's not some man playing chess with our souls, atleast not to me, and alot of Christians in my opinion makes it seem so. I believe God is the very unexplainable phenomenon that happens in your body that lets you know what is really moral, and what isn't. Everyone has their own belief what God is, but I think the very acknowledge ment of one's self is enough reason to believe in God

As a former Catholic (and hated every day that I was one), here's what I personally believe about "God": 1. "God" is a spirit energy, not a person. 2. "God" is both of male and female energy, and good and evil. (there has to be both positive and negative energies to create balance). Humans are a reflection of this God energy, therefore since God is of both positive and negative energy, so are humans. 3. Prayers are useless. Applying positive healing energy to onesself or another works better.

I'm not jumping for joy at the idea of telling my mum any of this but in the long run I suppose it's better to be honest with her than go along with something I don't believe in anymore.

Hi again Ariana, I was wondering if you or anyone you know has read the book The Holy Blood The holy Grail. The book, amoung other things puts across the idea that Jesus was not the son of God, he was just a man.
I haven't really been a regular church goer since I was 15yo. In that time I have to admit I've experienced an increasing amount of doubt as to wether or not God actually exists. I've come to the conclusion that blind faith is not enough (at least not for me).

I remember when I was a child, about 10-12 (I think). I statrted to think about God the Devil, Heaven & Hell one night while trying to get to sleep (don't ask me why).
I thought about what would happen when my time came, wether I would go to Heaven or Hell. Now keeping in mind I was just a kid, I have to admit, I scared the s**t out of myself!
p.s.I realise this comment was a bit off topic, it's just that your video reminded me of that night for some reason (apologies for the profanity)

Even animals are so much better off than we are.

God does all things for a reason .. maybe to teach the parents something and he made us all and gave us the laws to go out and do as we wish ... we left and went and did what we wanted. We have a very loving and forgiving God. One that will ALWAYS forgive you and welcome you into his fold. You are created for a reason ... you are special and are too hard on yourself. A shitty god would do all the because everyone has it all backwards. God does not exist. Existence exits, and only existence exists. In other words existence is a primary. So to believe in God, you must do it by openly denying reason, saying flatly "To Hell with argument, I have faith."

Christian God equals a vile being not really worthy of worship...and it makes more sense if you look at Gnostic Christianity, in which the creator God was an insane, petulant child never meant to create anything but did anyway...and created a horrible, chaotic, insane world. And the shift from wrath to redemption from the old to new testaments is based on a differeny God-being taking control and trying to reassert order and what not to a flawed universe never meant to exist.

Also; I agree that the God presented in the Bible is not worthy of being worshiped assuming God of the Bible, in fact all knowing. If not all knowing, or if S/He chose to create with a self imposed blindness to Hir creation that S/He could still be surprised and see what would come of these beings, that sheds a whole other light on the idea, I feel, and really would make it all more man's fault for mucking things up.

I like to think of it as "the force" from Star Wars and Yoda's discription of it in "Empire Strikes back". George took the philosophy of the force from mythology. it is in our language, some websites have even expanded upon the idea as we all can through contimplation of the nature of God.

Aire, how are you? lol, sorry for my rant but I love ripping idiot Christians to shreds. You make a good point.. God is supposedly so loving and accepting, yet Christians practice intolerance and hatred constantly (though the Old Testament does condone the murder of gays, adulterers and disobediant children).
However, though the Old Test. says that adulterers are just as "evil" as homosexuals, when's the last time you've seen a Christian protest an adulterer in his workplace? You haven't.

There are too many lame excuses made for why god does what they do and to any logical thinker these excuses are ...well...lame. A logical thinker would come up with answers to these questions which make sense and follow facts. Great video

I usually just tell "believers" who think trans people are SINNING, "Show me in the Bible where is says changing your sex is WRONG!" and they usually just get annoyed with me and say, "OK look I'm not discussing this with you anymore, you know it's wrong!"

I believe God exists and I seem to be one of the FEW trans people who do. My situation of being trans is HORRIBLE, I agree, but MANY other prayers have been answered for me. As far as the birth defects go, I tend to think God set up the birth process and lets nature take its course, whether someone is mentally challenged, or intersexed OR transgendered like WE are. I dunno why he/or she ALLOWS bad things to happen. ANd I for one do NOT think changing your sex is WRONG like MOST believers do.

Eunuchs are considered by Biblical scholars what would be in our time as transgender people.

God is a aberation of man. It is there to give us hope for a better time in the afterlife. For all those that think that God exists should research and figure out what it is to believe. Not just be told but research.
BTW I really enjoyed how you questioned everyone. I asked those same questions. Being a post op TS myself I tried to answers these and there is no answer. It is all a joke all relegion is.
