  • I love this i made this and turned out great thanks videojugfoodanddrinks

  • I'd never use wheat flour in this manner, I don't think it'll cook properly, prob. will give you a stomachache.

  • 4:24 I like step 9

  • excellent instruction

  • I like them with a little more 'explosive' flavor if you know what I mean. Typical middle east. The cuisine, that is.

  • FIRST FALAFEL COMMENT OF 2012

  • I don't care for fried foods but can this be baked???

  • @10gale yes you can do that to it is better baked is less fat

  • @mocroboy171 Thank you!

  • This is just fried dust...

  • @TheEndOfTheSand well if dust tastes so good I can eat dust everyday of my life!

  • A slutty spoon!

  • That amount of oil is frightening. I had falafel when I lived in Israel over twenty years ago; I absolutely loved them!

  • you must be kidding , flour !!! really ? this recipe is totally wrong

  • Is there a good alternative for cilantro/coriander? I can't stand the taste.

  • This recipe is incorrect: one part chick peas should be mixed with 2 parts of peeled dry fava beans. The mix should be ground coarsely in a meat grinder (for fluffiness) with 100 g white sweet onion and 50g garlic per kg of chick peas-Fava beans mix along the various spices and baking soda (before frying), ONLY.... herbs addition to this mix is not of Mediterranean origins but an Egytian variant. just my 2 cents.

  • @Xbig74 if your recipe is an "Egyptian variant" then how can this particular one be "incorrect"?

  • @oceantrolls73 what I meant is that the recipe of VideoJug appears to me as an Egyptian variant called "Tohmiah". Falafel orgininating from Levant Coutries do not usually contain among their ground ingredients green leaves, cilantro, parsley etc...

but what was stricking to me is the absence of the most indespensable and prominent ingredient from this recipe: peeled dried small fava beans.

"Incorrect" is an inappropriate word that I misused. I stand corrected!

  • @Xbig74 not too many ppl use fava beans ., in lebanon we dont use fava much when when make it at home ;)

  • @Xbig74 has Egypt moved then ?

  • @Xbig74 true

  • should i chop my flour as well ?

  • of what? of cumin? ok i got this

  • mmmmm i wanna eat falafel, im sick of the french food

  • FELLOFFATREE

  • båålls

  • get rid of the ads for goodness sake !

  • Warning: that makes you poop. (ALOT)

  • @starbreez3 Extra warning. It also renders you unable to spell A LOT.

  • @donepearce Well, he spelt it correctly. Just mind his grammar.(:

  • @wtfisonyouface No, he spelt it incorrectly. It is two words - the indefinite article "A", and the word "Lot" which means many. There is no such word as ALOT.

  • @donepearce The word isn't missing a letter, so it's not misspelled. Adding a space is grammar, not spelling, dearie..

  • @wtfisonyouface Don't be silly. If the word is lot and it has been spelled alot, it is misspelled. That is not a grammatical error. Grammar errors are things like misplaced punctuation.

  • @donepearce ...and spaces and unneeded commas and what-not. Isanythingmisspelledinthissentence? or thisword? Really; it's just a space.

  • I LOVE FALAFEL

  • no meat :( ...?

  • @Angerin757 Eww, If falafels had meat I would puke. (I'm not vegan or vegetarian, btw)

  • @DeadlikeaPixel

    It doesn't taste good with meat o_O? :( ...

  • @Angerin757 No, Most likely. Besides, It's not supposed to have meat, It's not a falafel if it doesn't have chickpeas for base.

  • @shoeib123 dont use canned chick peas they have a lot of water it will be very difficult to make the balls and fry them!

  • @emosousou87 i know but you can like always drain the water right?

  • @CelticVolcano i think he means palestine.

  • @HabboonJoey

its middle eastern food. so of course its gonna look different there. kinda like greek gyros and middle eastern gyros. one is original the other is copied but with their own twists.

  • Comment removed

  • I want to make this but I do not have coriander or cumin or baking soda.... sigh*

  • can you use canned chick peas?

  • just a little something that u forgot to add and that is onion with the mixture, and u don't need to put flour in the mixture,

  • Keep breedint white girls little mexican man make them breed mixed babies

  • they are nummy

  • im stuck on step 9!

  • @AlpineWilfy lol...they don't serve real Falafels in Israel, why not go to New York for some Italian Pizza while you are at it...

    what a joke

  • 2 balls...

  • If you want to make the authentic Arab version of falafel you're going to need to moisten the falafel mix with the tears of a thousand infidels.

  • @b1rdkeeper It's just like the Crusader version of wild boar gravy...

  • i hate how he says chopped.. "chauped" lol it was so annoying

  • I have modified the recipe several billion times and believe it or not substituting Italian bread crumbs for the flour yielded some awesome results!

  • chopped

  • chick peas plump and swollen like my balls, just buy tinned ones and save time num nuts. ...

  • chick peas plump and swollen like my balls, just buy tinned ones and save time num nuts.

  • CHOPPED!!! Remember to introduce your parlsey to the mixture ("Hello")

  • where is the fava beans...!!!!!?

  • @jsaas66 some recipes call for fava beans and other call for chick peas. It all depends on what region you visit.

  • I don't have a blender or a good processor. Is there anyway I can make falafel?

  • Since i wisited the local falafel store in my town centre, i all over that shiatttt!

  • you forgot to mention in the recipe listing baking powder

  • cumin or cumming

  • sad

  • Balls

  • if u people dont anything nice to say. just shut ur fucking mouths and go watch another video. this guy is trying to help.

  • This is fail. You need equal parts Fava Beans and Chickpeas, a hell of a lot more cumin and corriander seeds, and onions. There is no pepper or chili in falafel. The food processor sucks for this task, using a meat grinder provides a better texture. Trust me I have an Egyptian Grandmother and she KNOWS ALL o.o

  • @HelmiFinn Nothing can beat a Grandmother's cooking.. Not even another Grandmother o.o

  • @HelmiFinn check out DedeMeds videos she has a recipe from scratch with equal parts of fava and chickpeas. And the garlic sauce!!!! Love it.

  • No dammit you're supposed to boil the chickpeas or the mix will just be dry and blegh.

  • 2 tbsp of flour CHOPPED!!!!

  • ok it looks good but its too different from the flafel - taamya -we make in Egypt we must use beans

  • you have to use giant beans with the chickpeas as well this is not the authentic recipe

  • CHOPPED

  • STOP SAYING BALLS

  • No onions added to the recipe?

  • @cookingtheeasyway Gosh;no don't need them. Try it out to see if you like it.

  • Hey! Food and drink! Now Im eating six balls that I just made some minutes ago .....They were perfect!!!! I have made falafel but I used to boil the chickpeas before puree. Obvious, I hadn't have the same result! Thank u thank u sooooo much!

  • Excellent video! :D I like the way you explain the process! Very simple! :)

  • Falafel food famous in Syria and Lebanon, and the best thing in the world

  • If you look at how the real falafel chefs are doing it, the texture of the falafel is never so you can form balls with your hands...... it will be too dry.

  • @ghijsch

Perhaps they are too dry? You could add water, but not too much.

  • i make it different than this. i use a meat processer instead of a food processer.

  • the best step is No 9 hhh thanQ

  • Omg this kind of falafel tastes way worse then if u get it from a arab store is is much more dark brown and if u put it in a sandwitch with potatoes aded and not hummas

  • Omg this kind of falafel tastes way worse then if u get it from a arab store

  • @ghijsch do u use canned chickpeas? i heard if u use them they fall apart

  • Step 9...... Serve!!!! haha gotta love that part

  • I enjoyed this and will be making them sometime soon, falafels are amaazing, this is a clear and simple demonstration- thanks!

  • it takes 3 days to make flafel but it only takes 10 mints to make a burger

  • this is overdetailed, wtf

  • you don't need the flour or the baking soda and the coriander could be fresh. Forget about the pepper but put in some onion. Put the whole lot into a blender and zap it all together.

  • Why not use a red chili?

  • thanx videojug!

  • it's not fal-aff-ull

    it's fal-ay-full

    Americans, tiss

  • handful coriander, copped....1 chilli, chopped.... 2 tbsp of flour, chopped.... oh wait!! :P

  • Very nice. You won't feel awful if you eat falafel!

  • I made the falafel but the taste was like raw legumes, totally raw ... the inside of the falafel after frying was exactly like the mixture before forming the balls.. what I did wrong?

  • @OurBestMusicChannel Your oil was probably too hot. If the oil is too hot, it'll cook the outside fast, leaving the inside uncooked.

  • @OurBestMusicChannel i'm guessing you didn't leave the mixture long enough, you could always add extra baking soda to speed up the process

  • instead of frying balls i bake patties and use them for vegetarian burgers.

  • falafel is the best food i have ever eat... I found the recipe on internet but I needed to see how to do that... so very thank you :)) now I can cook it at home :)
