@bluefire1954 - from what i can tell they were trying to keep some elements of this film realistic... the male deer typically patrols his territory and fends off predators, while the mothers tend to the babies... father = protector mother = nurturer... it's not a support for absentee parents

@selenagomez2056 No, he came back for him the first time the hunters came and when Bambi's mother had lost him, he led him to his mother and led them to a safe place.

After Bambi's mother died he himself started to take care of Bambi, Bambi turned out pretty well and not emotionally traumatized which means he did have a good childhood with his father in the end, so no the father has no reason to hate him, it's not his fault that his mom got killed by some redneck jerk.

@Pokefan2471 When you say "mother deer" do you mean just does in general or does with fawns? If you mean just does then no you are allowed to hunt them. As for does with fawns it is an ethical choice made by the hunter. If you are an ethical hunter you won't shoot, if you are unethical you are allowed to shoot the doe still. I have never met a hunter who has killed a doe when they knew she had a fawn.

Yeeesss...back when movies required some kind of artistic skill! Now they just tell a computer what they want and it pops out the other end. Disney really needs to go back to this. Not all "advancements" are good things.

Many of the scenery found in 3D films are all created by sculpture artists, many shots are taken of the scenery, then rendered into a digital format. The same goes for characters. Each character is sculpted by artists in clay, then photographs, after this, they are uploaded

into a computer and graphic artists design a digital skeleton to fit, then muscles, then hair, and clothing (which is also constructed in raw materials by costume artists.) Every strand of hair or fur has to be manually created and manipulated for each frame. A standard 3D animated movie takes about 4 years to make, the same amount of time, usually used to make 2D films in this era. 2D films nowadays are made the same way as Bambi here. Drawn out frame by frame.
