  • I was about to get a Kindle through Amazon, until I learned they are MADE IN CHINA, probably for peanuts. I try not to purposefully support this hideous country so the Kindle is a NO NO.

  • @whichypoohs What's not made in China??? Get real, at least it's safe to walk in the streets at night in China unlike most US cities.

  • @ps3mw24lyf Get an iPad and get blind after reading 2 books on it.

  • 16 people have a nook

  • My ideas for Kindle 4

Colored kindle same like Kindle fire but still looks like a kindle 3 keyboard useful for games and web browsing :)

Better typing on kindle (easier to push)

    faster web browsing

    more space (atleast 7-9 GB)

music is more like an ipod where you can choose the songs and repeat them

screen that is readable in the dark (glow in the dark, built in flash light etc)

more colors to choose from (not only white and black)

full side next and back page buttons

those are all my ideas 4 now

  • It looks amazing!!!

  • I wrote a book for the kindle. :)

    'A compilation of Poetry'

    Check it out!!

  • Yeah...but you can't wipe yer Ass with a Kindle...if you run outta Toilet Paper...

  • This is so cool!!! :D

  • I'm contemplating on whether to get Kindle 3 or 4 =/.

  • @YunGinGilly If you want the 3G version, get Kindle 3. In Kindle 4 (Kindle Touch) they stopped free 3G browsing for any website except Amazon and Wikipedia.

Have anyone used its USIM card for another modem? Or tried to use Kindle itself as a modem? Or tried to reinsert the card from Kindle 3 to Kindle 4 and see what happens?

  • thanks for the review

  • i think on the price of this i could buy a quite good tablet pc, and it can do much more things than the kindle. just saying.

  • I love it at 0:26 how they show as much of her boob as they do of the kindle.

  • I don't understand why people would like to buy something without color, even news paper got color on the front page. I don't think it's a convenient product especially for me... !!!

  • @AhmadFattal88 The black-and-white screen looks like paper in any light - very easy on the eyes. It also has many months' (yes, months) battery life, because the screen only uses significant power when it needs to refresh the image.

Maybe in future versions of e-Ink, colour will be possible.

I find the best way to review a device is go to a store and try it out. I specifically didn't like the Kindle because there was no SD-card slot. There are other eBook readers.

  • 2:30 read the txt on the kindle... this one's for all the conspiracy buffs.

  • i'm gonna fill mine with heinous porn.

  • I love my Kindle, but it got scratched up pretty early on :(

If you buy one, or buy one for someone else please get them a cover!!!! astore.amazon.com/kindleskins0c-20

I bought a super cute floral one!

  • And what about 3G function???

  • kindle=making people lazier

  • @freddyway Not really. It simply allows people who read a lot to have a compact reading device that they can take anywhere. For those who read large novels regularly (such as myself), it allows you to read longer without straining your wrist to a painful short term pain, followed by the long term pain of arthritis. If you are speaking of the fact that you are able to get books without going to a library, lets just say, a lot of us do not like getting sick. Book stores are expensive.

  • I like kindle, aroused my interests on reading English classics..

  • ordered my kindle today. can't wait to receive it !

  • "Chapter one

I am not a sentimental guy. I've been known to forget Mother's Day and, once, when Hannah and I were dating, I even let Valentine;s day go unnoticed. Fortunately she didn't take my lapse too seriously or see it as any reflection of my feelings. As for anniversaries or birthdays, I'm a lost cause. In fact, I'd probably overlook Christmas if it wasn't for all the hoopla. It's not that I'm self absorbed... Well, maybe I am, but aren't we all top a certain extent?"

    -Debbie Macomber

  • @Febeleh Chapter two

One time, my family grew very irritated with me when I chose to go to a male on male strip club instead of to my father's funeral. I had told them that I was gay and I needed to have some real hard co.....

  • Im abaout to buy kindle, but i was wondering is there any possibility to download books for it (somewhere) ,not to buy them on amazon ? Or maybe I could download books on my pc and than transfer them on the kindle?

    PLEASE ANSWER ME ! THX

  • @MrLindesa

you can (if you want) download them ilegally by searching the web and then download it to your kindle.

Kindle suport these formats: Kindle (AZW), TXT, PDF, Audible (Audible Enhanced (AA, AAX)), MP3, unprotected MOBI, PRC natively; HTML, DOC, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP through conversion. so it should be pretty easy to find them. you dont need to transfer them as kindle goes on the web.

  • Close your eyes and listen 0:22

  • look up MOMMABOY on Amazon.com

  • mine's arriving today! so excited

  • Looks plain stupid. I'd better take a normal paper and read it, not a kinda ipad thing. I am not saying it's inconvenient, however there are better gadgets with more functions and color displays.

  • @Kenttas Your "color displays" hurt the eyes, just like reading on a computer does. You call it stupid yet you basically say it is convenient? Contradiction? As for the "more functions", the kindle wasn't designed for anything but reading. And it does it well. Reading is very comfortable on the kindle unlike many other gadgets.

  • @DeathlyDavid

I cannot read on the ipad, or my macbook or any other color device. It's annoying and gives me eye strain and a headache. The kindle does what it's supposed to do I agree! if people want a gadget that does everything, get an ipad. If you want a device to read all your books on? get a kindle! :D

  • QUESTION! :) is it possible to transfer eBook archive which is already categorizes in different folders in PC already.? so, i don’t have to categorize all the files on Kindle again, after transferring them.

Im asking this becaue its hard work to create collection section on Kindle and choose each (1000s of) ebooks and transfer into that collection. its too much work.

so, is that possible to do it on pc and transfer them to kindle.

  • @tuncgungor sorry, ebooks don't work on the kindle, at leas not at the moment... only kindle books.

  • @Spanduer90 And so on with the Nook and Google's iRiver.

  • I have a feeling that the model never read a single thick book.

  • "You can read for up to a month without recharging" haha wtf it sounds so weird in today's electronics.

  • sub me

  • I got mine a few days ago, and I have had so much fun with it! It's really saving me a lot of money on the other end when it comes to buying books for my sophomore year of college in a few weeks :)

  • I got my kindle and i instanly loved it :D i didn't even need the intruction manual because its so EASY !! lOVE IT <3

  • i wanna get this!

but how long does the battery last? I don't mean in one use, but over all until you need to replace the entire thing?

  • @mo42086 I'm not completely sure, I know it lasts about a month before recharging. It'll probably go for a year or whatever! (just hoping)

  • Wow... I don't even like the idea of eReaders... and yet the Kindle looks awesome to me.

  • Swear to god, kindle is amazing. People say its not in color yet, but what books letters are in color. Unless youre reading childrens books its BS. Its the future of reading period...

  • Screw it Im buying one, whats money for if it's not for wasting on new useless technology.

  • @jlawton22 exactly haha! Or for spending on things that you want...:)

  • love btr kendall

  • I have just discovered that there is "limited time offers" in the kindle store in which you can find some decent freebies... :)) anyway, i downloaded my fav books in my kindle 3 and i find that i'm just loving my kindle more and more as time goes by

  • i got one mine is white and it does not hurt my eyes everytime i read

  • can any reader handle djvu and epub?

  • Love my kindle 3 so easy to download books in no time at all and the text is so kind the the eyes.

  • What's wrong with ancient tradition of reading books topless? It should made a law.

  • @KarlisHarisons lol I want to see some hot piece of ass reading a book topless.

  • now i want one

  • That's a handsome man there.

  • I wonder if that poor model on the beach gets proper medical treatment for anorexia.

  • @Yossarian1213 Oh wow, her arms are way too thin. But she might be a runner lol.

  • Mobipocket was bought by Amazon in 2005. Go on youtube and watch

    Tutorial MobiPocket Reader (2003)

than compare to your kindle 2011

and see what Amazon has done for you in past 6 years.

    It is INCREDIBLE

  • hmm...dont read much so no point...

  • @atheist382 Like we care idiot!

  • @fpandis88 people can just read a regular book..

  • i have 1 for 2 days well people as that far im very satisfied,it even has things i didnt expected, spent all day studying it,music plays in a great quality, books are easy to read, has wi-fi,as of compatibility with formats well, you can use all of them by converting so it isn't a problem

  • i got one of these and its well worth it

  • I love how they use the black guy to say "do you not understand what a word means? THERES A DICTIONARY"

  • What? 9000!

    IT'S OVER NINE THOUSAND!!!!

  • Should I buy this or the nook (not the nook color)?

  • @bumble1995 take a look @ both, & see which works best for you. Take into consideration the price, useability, & what you can get on each.

  • After buying the Kindle dont you think we should get some books for free?????

  • After buying the Kindle dont you think we should get some books for free?????

  • What's the difference between Kindle 2 and Kindle 3?

  • kindle surprise

there is no color we are in 2011

  • I love my Kindle <3

  • what i love is when people just get an official video that eveyone can view and put it on youtube for views

  • To read, are you limited to certain positions? I lie down in awkward positions... Would i have to move, or use my other hand to turn the page?

  • I was considering getting this because of how much time I spend reading but I'd rather have a physical book collection rather than an electronic device. Although, I see this be useful for people who are always traveling.

  • @Five500Hundred Let's say you're going on a long trip. You usually read about 2 books a week. That thing holds 35000 books. and it's very light weight. You can also do emails and browse the internet.

  • Amazon releases cheaper ad-supported Kindle. For details, go to Facebook and search "ereader" to access the ereader community page for the latest news and offers.

  • I got one for Christmas. Its excellent once you get used to it. I love books, especially old ones, and I have a large tangible collection that I am continuing to build, the kindle is, however, more realistic financially for an avid reader. Book prices are less and it allows you to connect and chat with other book lovers easily. Don't fret over getting one, I have heard of no person who completely regrets getting this device.

  • I WANT ONE SO BAD I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO aaaaaarrrrgggggh

  • I WANT WANT SO BAD I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!! aaaaaarggghhhh.

  • I really cant decide if I want to buy this. i mean i like having lots of books on my bookshelf , i like the look of them. but I dont like reading heavy paper back books when you have to turn on your side because there too heavy to hold over your head... however ive read alot of reviews about them being glitchy and freezing and £150 is alot for it to break!

  • @LoraaCharlotte I have one and i believe it is only glitchy if the user is trying to do too many things at one i.e. clicking the next page button a million times simultaneously. When i tried that it lagged alot and froze. I simply turned it off and boom it was all better. I think its an amazing product.

  • Had my kindle 3 since christmas., & love it., it's easy to carry & fits nicely in your hand & the kindle store has a vast amount of books both free & paid for., i've already got a collection of around 100 books & take it everywhere with me, the battery life is fine lasting upto a month, the text to speech is great too., a must have if you love to read, & perfect for when traveling on train/bus etc., + having the daily news delivered straight to kindle saves me a trip to the shop ;-)

  • I love the iPad, but I'm buying the Kinde, because reanding books on the Kindle is just great, really. Try it.

  • I'm in love with mine, I read faster and love that I purchase books so much cheaper and easily.

  • I got mine two weeks ago. It's absolutely fantastic. If you like to read, you'll love this!

  • Great affiliate link!!! Are you actually getting paid for this??? Let me know and I'll start posting some affiliate video links to Amazon too!!! ;oD

  • Can i read Chinese on this?

  • I love kindle and so want to get it lol

  • It' not back lit. Better for our eyes and more important, better for the battery !

  • I'm so happy it's not back lit. My eyes are sensitive to light and suffer from dry eyes. I'm only 19 and don't want to hurt my eyes more than I should. I love this!

  • Kindle has changed my life! I read much more than I used to because of the convenience. My vocabulary has grown because of the imbedded dictionary. And I have even written my own book that I can sell directly to Kindle owners. This thing is truly revolutionary, and I think it's going to continue to get better (as long as it doens't sell out to the color screen).

  • Właśnie kupiłam Kindla. Już się nie mogę doczekać aż przyjdzie :-)

  • they should do Kindle with touch screen

  • @ciawarhater imagine reading that in bed. if you just touch something by accident it'll be a disaster..

  • Omg I want this.

  • I did a lot of research and watched alot of reviews before buying an e-reader. But did you know that you can not use the Kindle to access FREE books from your local library using Overdrive. We all pay taxes that allow us to borrow free books from our local library and that does include new and latest bestsellers. Check out Overdrive website for a list of devices that allow you to borrow e-books from your library. Check with your local library and see if they offer e-books, some might not.

  • I just got mine today, and I absolutely love it. It got criticized by my wife saying it looks so ancient. But who cares?! It's meant for reading, not for playing fricking ANGRY BIRDS.

  • @asslickingood21 thank you. exactly.

  • @asslickingood21 well, the only standout which i see there over the ipad is that you have to charge the ipad frequently, but in most other way i'd pick ipad, i has greater resolution and a lot more space, along with other types of media, and color. plus i like the animations when you flip the pages :3

  • @prump1 except that the price for an ipad is 4 times the price of a kindle right?

I just got the ipad, but I think I'm going to get a kindle soon. It is way too annoying to be forced to stop reading and go recharge it, and for me it happens very often, even with everything (wifi etc.) off.

  • @brabbitsp where i live (in iceland) the kindle and the ipad cost around the same price. because the pound is twice the cost of our currency, and the fact its not sold in iceland it needs to be ordered from amazon directly, and the toll nearly doubles the price, while the price of the ipad is normal. that means kindle's price is quadruple while the price of the ipad stays the same.

  • It's meant to look like a book. The kindle is for people who like to read, it's not for games or Internet (though it dose have it.) So everyone quit complaining about the fact it doesn't have color. Go look up the ipad or something, but leave the kindle for people who actually like reading and respect its design. Its a great device.

  • does the kindle came with the black man?! lol

  • This device is for lazy people who need somethig that looks all teched out in order for them to read anything you lazy fucks.... this is the reason why this generation will not know howto survie iftech was gone

  • @ajl431091 this is probably the most understated and non "teched out" device you can buy. the developers went to great lengths to make sure that this looked like it had a paper surface. the people who buy these were readers anyway.

  • im gonna get one

  • im gonna get one

    so excited

  • Geez you people would rather spend 139 dollars than go to the library and get a free Library card so you can get books to read for free...sad just sad

  • @ajl431091 You can get free books from Amazon for the Kindle, you get to keep them - how many library books can you keep?

  • @bobcurby i might not be able to keep them but at least im 139 dollars richer than you, and really after i reada book i don't need to keep it...i only want it for its knowledge or story... soyou can keep the tech that will fall and then break and i will keep my books in whic theycan fall from a great height and he i can still read from it and i can sit on it while its in back pocket with no worry i can use it as a cup holder and so many other needs it can handle so yeah you keep the tech..lazy

  • @ajl431091 For someone playing the part of the holier-than-thou book reader your sentence structure is really fucking terrible. Seriously, try reading a book on English grammar.

  • @ajl431091 How many books do you buy? If you are going to buy around 60 more books in your whole lifetime, it would be more sensible to buy the kindle.

Paper can be easily destroyed. For example, if it has been read a lot, pages can fall off.

Kindle can make notes on the book without destroying it.

You can buy books where ever you are in the world.

And most of all, you can carry hundreds of book with two fingers :)

I don't know if it's as good as people says but I'm really looking forward to it!

  • @hyungsup2 you only buy books you want to read over and over again... any other book you can either buy them new or do as i do, go to librarys when they sell the books that no one uses anymore and buy a whole bag of books for a buck, or you can even just know people, and yes the paper can get ruined but that gives it history and another story besides the one its telling, you go on ahead and spend your money on that piece of tech that just like all the rest will become obsolete,

  • @hyungsup2 books are forever, think of all the scrolls and documents that are still here from the times of Pharoas and such..yes this time may not be something fun to remember because of how much the world has become so detached from one another but in the long run any piece of paper will out live tech...history is first written on paper before code on a screen, just remember that when your trying to leave something behind, lil bro's dad died and all his photos were digital, one guy wanting -

  • @hyungsup2 to be an ass deleted them all, all we have is the one left that we had an actuall photo of, i don't really care much for funerals( not my thing) but it still pissed me off...now do you think that would have even been possible if it were all with photos that were on paper..i don't think so...im a writer, artist, and i do other things that involve lots of writing and /or drawing and let me tell you this ive lost lots of data thx to computers, so you can keep the tech ill stay oldschool

  • @ajl431091 Books are not forever. Paper decompose and it's much more costly to get the paper restored. I can backup the books for free. As long as Amazon exists, my books will never disappear. You say some ass deleted them all. Well, what if the ass burned them all? It seems like you like your books in physical state. You like to touch the books and feel the paper while you're reading. I in other hand just want the text, the idea.

  • @ajl431091 Also, if you are a writer, why do you hate kindle? It would be easier to publish your works. I'm not saying that staying old school is a bad thing. I think it's more fun and creative to go with analogue but I find it's extremely fast, easy and handy to use digital formats. Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people. Let us be (wo)men with great minds and encourage new ideas, maybe shunning them but never condemn it.

  • @hyungsup2 i see where your going but with that being tech its just a fad that going to pass, writing on paper has been around a long time and it will still be here for years to come...this can be compared to the type writer, how many people still have those nowadays(i have 2 of them) but my point is is that yeah it is easier to use until the next one comes out and then you'll be just buying more and more, and with something like this it shouldn't be bought, library card, buy other uselessthings

  • @ajl431091 Well, you are right there! For a different example, Books can be compared to a portable CD player and kindle is more like ipod.

iPod is just much easier to carry songs and buy them.

You can only carry so many CDs at a time and it's bulkier.

There were people saying ipod is a waste of money and CD is the way to go about 6~7 years ago.

Also, some people still insist of owning LPs. People pay for convenience.

You would buy a typewriter while writing by hand also does a good job.

  • @ajl431091 Using your logic, people used to walk, we got so lazy that we go to buy a horse, horse was uncomfortable, so we got a wagon. Wagon was so slow and can't be bothered to feed the horse so we get a car.

Maybe it's a bit different to books but What I'm trying to say is that kindle helps modern people to read and be more comfortable. If you don't find it comfortable, it would make no sense for you to get one.

  • @ajl431091 People could say that PC is a useless thing. We could have more constructive conversation on the phone, or in a pub, over a pint! :)

I agree that kindle is "NOT" a necessity but it sure is more easier way to buy and read books :)

Just because it's not a necessity, it's not a useless thing.

I guess it's time to wrap up our little debate.

You can have the last say but I believe that owning a car(kindle) make life more simple than taking the bus(library) all the time. ;)

  • I had a Kindle for Xmas ( love to bits). I downloaded loads of free books. I'm a bit of a Churchill nut and a mate of mine recommended a book called What Churchill Would Do, I have avoided buying books so far (no point with so much free stuff) but it was dirt cheap so I thought I would give it a go. It was a really great book, loads of war stuff and some interesting and different business advice. Not the usual drivel you get . Worth checking out when you get a chance.

  • Just got it couple days ago, it's AWESOME!

  • Search: Jenni Schmidt . In the Amazon store if you want sexy girls on your kindle =)

  • Just ordered mine!!! Can't wait :))

  • can i watch youtube on it?

  • I own the Ipad (since April 2010) and recently received Kindle 3 as a Christmas gift. There is no competence between them as both have different uses. I'm delighted with the Kindle, in the last 3 days I have read 2 books completely. In the Ipad I can't read more than 30 minutes due to the back-light. When it comes to Apps, Music, Videos, games the Ipad is great; but for reading Kindle is the King!!!

  • ew it looks boring. xD

  • you can have pdfs on the kindle.

  • @thefran1996 can you?

  • THIS KINDLE IS A ROBBERY, UNTIL YOU CAN LOAD YOUR OWN PDFs

is like buying one of those multifunction printer for 50$ and get crashed when you go for buying new cartridges, 80$ each!!!!!

  • @apumili You have been able to load PDFs for a very long time now.. You can even download "Calibre" and convert those to the kindles format if it changes anything. With this kindle you can even highlight on PDFs and research words like a normal ebook. Watch the whole video they state the PDF thing right in it.

  • After all that time spent reading her Kindle in the sun, that nice lady is going to look like a wrinkled old crocodile by the time she's 35...

  • @audiotrax2000 hey didnt you see it was a perfectly overcast day and she had on spf 60

  • The multiple chesty women kept me from changing pages.

  • Love kindle

  • "like paper." best yet. this is its most unique feature and is why i choose this over other e-readers. not to mention i love amazon.com, it's gorgeous.

    Mark 1:14-15

  • hate this thing and yes i'm holding one -- i hate the way the screen blinks every time i go to a different page, the way the screen looks and definitely the fact that whenever it breaks, i'll pretty much have to buy a new one because customer service is pretty much no help. Not into it personally.

  • The Kindle is as perfect a device as I've seen in a long time.

  • Get yours here watch?v=Fo70scy41Z8

  • can you do anything else with it like go on the internet of type notes

  • This is definitely on my Christmas wish list. In fact it is the only thing on my wish list.
