@lbrown8869 It is a horn. The Integrity horn has a different sound then many fire alarm horns out there. And believe me this horn is really loud in person.
@Droideka133 Its a possibility they may be speaker strobes if they dont sound like this. The Integrity Chime, Horn and speaker look exactly the same so unless you hear it sound you cant tell what it is. Now days most Integrities I know of are either Horn strobes or speaker strobes and I heard both in the past.
I work at a hotel the hotel has those Edwards integrity the system is est 2 edwards pauel's and it has 1 edwards genesis in the work out room than in the front disk they have edwards mini horns with strobe than just edwards mini horns in all in the rooms.
those are the ones we have in school>>>they sometimes get crazy and activate like 5 times a day>>>also, the first three times it sounds it sounds really loud after that they sound normal>>and when we are outside we can hear clearly>>>
we have thoes at midle school in ashland and whellock fire alarm the wheelock alarm go continus and the edwards fire alarm gose code 3 its was a nightmare
those are the ones we have at my school! they get louder. our school used to have it so it would flash 2-3 times untill it sounded. now they made it so it flashes and sounds at the same time. it frightens me everytime
my school has integrities outside and new est eg1s in the classrooms and most hallways. in some hallways they have older wheelock 7002t alarms. the integrities sound just like in this vid. the 7002ts and eg1s sound like spectralerts.
The first time i heard this was last year, My classes had the G1 Genesis and at first a ifigured that all the alarms must sound the same but not at all
This alarm, by far, has got to be the loudest. We have them in the Bailey Science Center here in VSU and they are loud! But they serve their purpose...to get your attention.
in my elementey school they had them in the hallways on continuos. And i my scecondary school they have them on code 3 and i just had a fire drill on friday lol!
I have this alarm in my collection and I am soon to post a video of it. Also it is louder than my MA/SS. Also it does a little popping sound 4 seconds after being disconnected (It only does this if it is set on code 3)
Electronic-- Electromechanical means the VibraTone or a Whistle-And-Ball mechanism. I've seen beneath the grille (if you look very close) of one of these and like the TrueAlert Horn/ Strobe, you can make out something that looks like a small speaker.
So you know electromechanical horns use a vibratory like metal thing that produces the sound and electronic horn/strobes use piezos which are that speaker like thing. I know how a TrueAlert looks like under the grille as I have one. BTW, a piezo also makes the sound out of vibration.
The ever familiar Edwards Integrity horn-- Never knew anything about them but they were loud and annoying. They use them in our school-- don't know anything about the rest of the system.
Why do most alarms have temporal tones? They've gone to far with that code. Why is it standard? March Time should be standard I mean its much more alarming!

Not really you can give it the same power as a panel by connecting two 12V batteries to make 24VDC.
