  • im glad people can fix this to prevent blindness.when i found out pinguecula was malformed collagen i dropped aspirin and treated myself for scurvy. it seems to be reversing the process. to think all my blood vessels looked like the ouside of my eyeball. it a wonder i wasnt dead.

  • That means alot thank you...i have to wait till next week to see the doctor, but I will let you know.

  • okay hopefully the doctor can figure out what it is, thank you very much.

  • okay, let me know what your doc find. I'll pray for you. Jack

  • Once, the skin get over my pupil, then i will lost my sight. so, Doc removed it just in time before it reach to my pupil. Jack

  • for a week or so then the redness goes away but it'll come back again whether it's days, weeks, or months....this has been going on for a few years...do you think this can be pterygium??????

  • Hi NaturallyMe91, no, pterygium is part of grown skin (like red rivers around the white eye). No idea what caused this. Doc think it grown intenting to protect the eye from the bright sun or strong wind. Pterygium does not have bump at all. Hope doc will help you out. Jack

  • hello I have a question adn I REALLY hope you can help...I am pretty sure I have pterygium, my mom is making an appointment with teh eye doctor tomorrow...I have a bump on my eye when i was little and all i remember s the doctor saying if i itch it it will get bigger and i can go blind. he gave me eyedrops sent me on my way and it eventually went away...it is now I'd say nine years later, and my right eye has been watering, itching, and red on the inner half of my eye...but it seems to be red

  • had one removed today, stings abit now and its red roar.

  • Get well, theboyfromaus! The red will go away for about couple months.

  • Hi pillclock96, so I do look young :-). The Pterygium does grow again unless doctor remove the area of Pterygium and then place the new coverage over the cutout area. the new coverage came from other area that has no Pterygium on. New coverage will prevent the Pterygium grown again..

  • Please do not give up, keep continue seeing the doctor and follow up. If no insurance, then ask doctor to give you directions where to get the helps. I will pray for you to get well and get helps. Please let me know how it goes. Do not wait.....

  • SpyderRios, since you are young man 20 or 21, I am sure your parents hopefully have health insurance covers for you. I am hoping you are still going to school .... that way be able have the parent's health insurance still cover on you. If you not in school, I hope you have a job that have health insurance. Please talk to your parents to help you out. Also, go to see your family doctor for referring you to see the specialist eye doctor who have managed with Pterygium operations.

  • During the few months, I have applied the medicine on my eye. This medicine is called Allergan, Inc. "Pred Forte" twice a day everyday for few months until my whole eye turned to white wall, no more bloody red. This medicine has white liquid. Last week I visited my eye doctor and he said my eye is better and wants me to see him next year November 2009.

  • What eye doctor did was to removed (cut) the area of pterygium (top layer area with pterm..), then he cut out the good layer area off the other side of the same eye as same cut size as he had cut the pterm..area and moved the good layer on top of removed pterygium area and sew on each corner. The reason to cover with good layer is to prevent the pterygium grown back again. My right eye have been bloody red for several weeks (couple months)and started to clear up.

  • Good Morning, SpyderRios! I am sorry it happened to you. This Pterygium I had for several years as my eyeglasses doctor have warning me about it. It kept grown toward to my pupil. He finally ordered me to see the eye doctor fast.

  • I am glad you got surgery. I hope it all goes good to you. I been suffering from pterygium for over 2 years. I am turning 21 and I got surgery once which dint work.
