@metesables dunno if you're asking or letting the viewer know, but please don't write the title or youtube will somehow link to it and take it down. The title is indeed what you wrote and yes, the uploader renamed it on purpose. I believe this one's 2010. Thanks!
For many years I have thought that David Suchet was the best Poirot hands down, and there have been many actors who have portrayed him, although usually for only one movie. But I must say that I think the version of MOTOE with Albert Finney and the all-star cast is better. For one thing, the original version was truer to the original story. I also thought the overall story was more suspenseful the first time around.
@garfreeek I wonder why Blauwpautje never has any problems keeping the names? My post was a month ago, and i was New to Poirot and his series. I was unaware of the problem with copyright laws and changing names to avoid Youtube from taking them down! Buggers! - Anyhoo Most people find the new names clever and funny. I for one don't mind. Although, for some , i was unclear on what episode it was. Like: 'Remember that murderous plot, the two next to mine, wager on a murder, 3 meaningless reasons.

but for the price of two poirot boxes i can get whole seasons of other tv shows, i want to know sure i like these (cause I do buy them ás a collectors thingy ^_^)
amazing-- i like it better than the 1974 version AND i think it's the best of the series because it gives Poirot moral ambiguity as he grapples with the unprecedented choice to let the murder(s) escape. true, it subordinates the mystery, but does so to open up a provocative question about religious vs. civil models of law. suchet is excellent as always-- that final scene!!!! mon dieu.
@gaiuskaiser It still may continue, but Suchet doesn't want to continue playing Poirot if the budget is slashed because the quality would be reduced if that happens. They've done most Poirot stories and there are rumors that the remaining ones will be made. Among those that haven't been made, there is "Curtain: Poirot's Last Case". I won't spoil it for you if you haven't read it.
I think it's time for me to express my great gratitude to ravenhaven14 for his/hers noble work on Poirot series in which David Suchet and the whole cast prove purely how good actors they are. Furthermore I feel like saying to all of you not to judge this under the terms of being illegal or not, because in other countries like mine, which is Greece, we do not have any opportunities of watching this programme. Finally I have to say "THANK YOU" ravenheven14!!!!
I think this novel/episode is one of the most important of the whole series, because it truly reveals Poirot's values (even the added bits): he values civilization, the law and the sense of unbreakable dogma.
I think that this episode instead of making Poirot break out of character like everyone is saying, it lets us travel more deeply into his character to understand the moral pillars that make his personality.
Poirot is the embodiment of Justice. Like he had just said to the man in the boat, the woman has made her choice, and she could have made a different one. Her choice sealed her fate, and justice is done.
Well, it seems you need to go back to school since you cannot even write a basic sentence in English. Just because the entire film doesn't last 5 minutes or include Snooki or The Situation doesn't mean it's bad... it just means that you're that ignorant
@neothespian, I thinks that's a little unfair. Clearly he isn't English so you could hardly expect him to write a perfect sentence. Second, not everyone enjoys these Poirot films which are really much closer to a play than a typical movie.
so poirot saw a woman beaten to death in the middle of istanbul at 1930s, and didn't realize it was a murder. He is not very good at solving obvious ones apparently.
This kind of barbarism is common in Muslim countries. What would he do? Try to arrest the entire mob? He'd be just as dead as well. Some cultures do not respect life and you cannot teach them basic respect
@neothespian calling Muslim countries barbaric is not so nice. The relationship between husband wife is valued more in Muslim societies and is an integral part of being Muslim and hence it is important in Muslim societies to punish the adulterer and adulteress. One who commits adultery might not agree though. this punishment does not come from disrespect for life but it stems from high respect to morality and human feelings.try to have some respect for other culture first and then talk about it
@xxxravenxxxable the law in Istanbul in 1930 was quite different than the law in England. Adultery was not seen as a common social practice in Turkey unlike it was in England. Adultery was a serious crime.
@randominitializer No, adultary was not a serios crime in Turkey in 1930s, for it was not a "crime" , it did not have any legal punishment. I emphasied 1930s Turkish law because it was the decade revolution in Turkish womens rights occured.
I am not british so i wont be the one replying the ridiculous notion of a nation finding adultary as common practice. Just so you know; of course the 1930s Turkish laws would be different than UK's of the time, because they were based on swiss laws.
@xxxravenxxxable when did i say Republic of Turkey's law? When I said it was serious crime in Turkey, I meant the overwhelming majority of general public of Turkey considered it a serious crime(and it is one of the biggest crimes in human civilization then or now), regardless of what a dictator named Kemal forced on the people of Turkey. and the law goes both way. so it does not have any relation whatsoever with women's right.
06:07 that is amazing if you look on the trailer you can see the original unedited film and its not a big main line station, its just amazing what they can do special effects

@deadapostle I'm not up to date with copyright laws but, with that short sentence I mean to say I'm not profiting from these video's. They are up by requests and for viewing pleasure. An when your uploading alot of video's, you can't be asked to write anything else. :}
we all got used to the idea of poirot being a perfectionist, but this shows that even he will question his own beliefs and what is right in order to achieve justis,. in the end he does make the right decision. the murderers will be punished for the rest of their lifes for making a judgement that was not theirs to make. they will be sorry to God not to authority. no man or woman has the right to make a judgement and kill another, God has given us life, he will take it.
I was not only disappointed with Poirot in this episode (although David Suchet is always brill), I actually found myself in tears five minutes before the end because he'd become so bitter and melancholy and shouty. He just wasn't the Poirot I love.
Think I'll be sticking with Albert Finney on this one. 'Is it about sex?' 'No, it's about 10,' - flash to Poirot killing himself with laughter.... ahh memories of good times aboard the Orient Express.
Public stonings like this never ocurred under turkish rule, nor was mob justice tolerated. The sounds of the women accompanying this deed are an african/arabian tradition, usually used at times of joy like weddings, not something that turkish women do. even under the most harsh interpretations of islamic/biblical law, pregnant women are never punished. is this the itv's interpolation of islamophobic themes into a popular tv programme? apart from this, certainly love poirot to bits.
Ravenheart thank you so much for uploading this episode. I am disappointed with this Poirot episode but nevertheless I should acknowledge your good effort, friend.
David suchet just killed the poirot he had created in last 20 years. Poirot's advocacy on law and stoning of the woman is so insensitive and irrational. I failed to understand if the director and script writer is Pope's cock sucker.
Thanks ravenhaven14, your great...as usual. That was one Hell of an opening! Man I didn't see that one Coming! Phew! And the blood even got on Poirot!
@12rosebud12 You can not like it. And I understand that you are upset, because Christies writing is all about formulae and comfort. Just like playing Clue with friends. This is definitely an eye opener, and not letting you look away from real life. But this is a masterpiece. Beautifully done. It is a juxtaposition of typical Christie mumsy-ness and reality that makes it so good.
@HeartbreakOueen Considering that All Aboard the ChooChoo is one of the only times that Poirot decides to let murder or lies to go unpunished, the opening makes a lot of sense. It explains why he does so.
Welche dramatische Funktion innerhalb des Filmes hat, bitte, die Steinigungsszene ganz am Anfang ? Üble Spannungsmache, die mit dem Plot nichts zu tun hat.
It takes two to tango as they say and If "she broke the rules" why isn't the man also treated in thus way? No, there is no justice, there's no god.
My heart goes to all women who experience such evil from a mans hand.
