Fun fact: Gotenks was actually the reason Vegeta never went super saiyan 3, the writer didn't like the way the long hair looked on Gotenks, that's why Vegeta never turned super saiyan 3 or any saiyan girls never turned Super Saiyan. agreed, but there's probably a couple reasons why this wasn't as good.
1. i guess they didn't have the run time to make it look all epic, plus DBZ epicness lasts several minutes long lol
2. maybe it's just me but i consider their transformation rushed and imperfect, i think it might have been stronger if they actually trained up to it. though that random jump either way is still pretty impressive
@dwb17 its impressive until you remember the fact: Half sayians naturally get stronger faster. And as the bloodline gets closer to the end, they gain more power. If you look at Gohan and Future Trunks their half, Kid Goten and kid Trunks were 1/4, when gt ended kid goku and kid vegeta most likey were 1/8 or 1/16 because of the 100 years past, and they were super sayian 2's right away.
I was following until goten and trunks. goku and vegeta would have had to suddenly gain human blood for goten and trunks to be 1/4 lol they're half also. as for goku jr and vegeta jr, I just flat out don't know because of the time jump, only fact is that goku jr is pans grandson(pan being 1/4 herself), and vegeta jr being the son of the bulma looking woman(who i assume is human). that big leap leaves way too many holes lol. But i'm pretty sure they were normal super saiyans.
If i'm remembering correctly to be a super saiyan all it really requires a certain level of power(less for diluted blood) and intense emotion(usually rage). Anything beyond that requires way more training, and some concentration. Though nothing is elaborated on further(officially) I don't believe the blood dilution could work to such extremes, it would mean you only need the thinnest amount of saiyan blood possible and you're the most powerful in the universe with no training lol.

That's true. It's basically one of the few pre-requisites for transformation, i think. like i said before, nothing is officially elaborated on. he could be just explaining it the best way he knows how, or how it just works for him. Vegeta for example didn't feel a need when he first transformed, he was simply at a point of extreme emotional turmoil because of the fact that nothing was working no matter how hard he he tried and both goku and his future son have surpassed him already.
@dwb17 Well he says his goal was to be the best of the saiyan warriors when he turns ssj vs android 19. So i suppose thats sort of a need but more of a desire then anything
as true as that may be, that was after vegeta had already went through his very first time transforming. His first ever transformation was on an asteroid or something(don't remember where) and he was training alone. After first time transformations every time after is just a matter of powering up.
on a side note: goten and trunks probably couldn't reach super saiyan 3 nearly as easily if they weren't fused. fused characters are several times stronger than their separated selves. without being fused together it would be a hopeless fight. not sure how strong of an additional example this is but look at the final fight between goku/vegeta and omega shenron, they were the highest grade of saiyan and didn't stand a chance, but could have killed him with little effort when fused
@dwb17 Turning to a super saiyan requires a need ascending is like needing something more then normal and going ssj3 is something that you would need to save the world. Ssj4 is the stupidest thing to appear in dbz history.

@bolt3000 lol Goku said himself before he fought Kid Buu that he could have probably destroyed the fat buu when he fought him... in fact Goku didnt even try that hard when fightin fat buu, and still was beatin him up a lot. He was more like testin his strength and stallin, if he went all out he wudda probably owned him and eventually destroyed him, but he didnt have a lot of time with that transformation to do so.

Since he put extra emphasis on child it hints perhaps he isnt quite as powerful or as good as a fighter as Goku. Anyway Gotenks fought Super Buu for a really long time. He just finally managed to win. Now if it was Goku I dont think he would have lost either.

Not by characters or hero's who's power level is vastly higher. All of the major enemies anyway. All of the fusions, throughout the story, were described as having seeming limitless power. Now, I will say... Ultimate Gohan is def stronger than SSJ3 Gotenks, especially because that is his only form. It's easy to follow the power level structure

agreed, but there's probably a couple reasons why this wasn't as good.
1. i guess they didn't have the run time to make it look all epic, plus DBZ epicness lasts several minutes long lol
2. maybe it's just me but i consider their transformation rushed and imperfect, i think it might have been stronger if they actually trained up to it. though that random jump either way is still pretty impressive

@dwb17 its impressive until you remember the fact: Half sayians naturally get stronger faster. And as the bloodline gets closer to the end, they gain more power. If you look at Gohan and Future Trunks their half, Kid Goten and kid Trunks were 1/4, when gt ended kid goku and kid vegeta most likey were 1/8 or 1/16 because of the 100 years past, and they were super sayian 2's right away.

I was following until goten and trunks. goku and vegeta would have had to suddenly gain human blood for goten and trunks to be 1/4 lol they're half also. as for goku jr and vegeta jr, I just flat out don't know because of the time jump, only fact is that goku jr is pans grandson(pan being 1/4 herself), and vegeta jr being the son of the bulma looking woman(who i assume is human). that big leap leaves way too many holes lol. But i'm pretty sure they were normal super saiyans.

If i'm remembering correctly to be a super saiyan all it really requires a certain level of power(less for diluted blood) and intense emotion(usually rage). Anything beyond that requires way more training, and some concentration. Though nothing is elaborated on further(officially) I don't believe the blood dilution could work to such extremes, it would mean you only need the thinnest amount of saiyan blood possible and you're the most powerful in the universe with no training lol.

That's true. It's basically one of the few pre-requisites for transformation, i think. like i said before, nothing is officially elaborated on. he could be just explaining it the best way he knows how, or how it just works for him. Vegeta for example didn't feel a need when he first transformed, he was simply at a point of extreme emotional turmoil because of the fact that nothing was working no matter how hard he he tried and both goku and his future son have surpassed him already.

as true as that may be, that was after vegeta had already went through his very first time transforming. His first ever transformation was on an asteroid or something(don't remember where) and he was training alone. After first time transformations every time after is just a matter of powering up.

on a side note: goten and trunks probably couldn't reach super saiyan 3 nearly as easily if they weren't fused. fused characters are several times stronger than their separated selves. without being fused together it would be a hopeless fight. not sure how strong of an additional example this is but look at the final fight between goku/vegeta and omega shenron, they were the highest grade of saiyan and didn't stand a chance, but could have killed him with little effort when fused
