verados are the most shittyest engines ever build.. they are the most unreliable pieces of shit ever. the problem is mercury made them to high-tech and powerful that they have totally lost there reliability.. go to a mercury mechanic's shop and ill bet that 50% of the engines getting fixed are verados.

Depends, there are very good inboard options for fishing as well, like a lets say a 3.2l, 190 HP turbo diesel. Petrol inboards on the other hand, is more for racing or pleasure boats for rich guys.

you need to remember that 70mph is fast for a 40 foot boat with five people on board and just over a 1000kg of weight right on the stern (i assume each engine is around 300kg)

Nope emailed Mercury Verado is 200-300 hp The sCI is 350hp and only avail from Merc Racing also it wieghs 667 lbs.The 350 is not a standard verado
