population doesn't have much to do with being a military superpower, Israel and Greece have done a lot with 10 million, Canada could have 45 million within 15 years which could put it close to the UK's population at that time.
and Canada makes and invented the most advanced nuclear reactors in the world which were used to start nuclear programs in China, India, South Korea and many other countries. Canada was 1 of 3 countries involved in the Manhattan project. 2nd biggest oil reserves, home of more than half the world's gold companies (6 or 7 of the biggest 12, no other country comes close), and a venture capital system that companies from South America run to for financing. 5th biggest freshwater supply.
If Canada ever removed its major alliance with the U.S. the U.S. would attack Canada and go to war against them.
Canada has far more value than the U.S. especially when you consider resources to population ratios. The U.S. is a now a "cardboard economy" country with very little value-to-population ratio.
They exploded in wealth far beyond their means and now are going to suffer an inevitable correction phase - and thrash out at the rest of the world like spoiled children in the process.
I don't want to give a shit. But with that natural resource and the location next to a big market, USA, Canada is clearly underachieved. It can be said that Canada has a potential to become big. But you better think why you couldn't have become so by now.
that's a positive thing because it means most of its resources are still there. 2nd biggest oil reserves but produces only a fraction as much as countries with dwindling reserves. Canada is the largest producer of uranium, potash, makes some of the best nuclear technology, that will mean lots of growth even if population growth isn't there. Canada has even produced astronauts heading nasa missions very few countries can say that. blackberry is affiliated with its biggest tech univ
Canada will be the center of the whole world. All of you remember my name The The Great 31 so one day I can tell all of you that I told you so, and the first step in my view is a serious regime change!!!
Canada a superpower?Must be a joke of all times.Canada neither has population nor the suitable weather to support large population.Half the year people remain sober and need some depression treatment.Canada is for retirement not for Superpowerdom
Toronto isnt all of Canada. You find an average Asian country town with more population than Toronto.Whatever discussing Canada being superpower is like Antarctica being center of world..

If the US had no choice but to step down from "superpowerdom", I would certainly welcome Canada taking our place.
