Every time I listened to the record of this song, I had such a feeling I didn't like that "lalala..." part much because of some 'interference' of the voice and the strings. So good to see it on stage, the sound of the strings is more powerful - makes me understand it! :) How is that instrument played with hammers called, please?
@QueenOfTheBlueSky Hi Queen, this instrument is called 'Tubular Bells' and should be a kind of equivalent of the churchbell sound to be used in an orchestra. Easy for me to know because of the famous LP(vinyl) with the same title, Tubular Bells, of Mike Oldfield. A standard and must have for lots of musicfans from around my age ;-)
Who cares who posted it first. Are you that sad and petty? I posted it before you,Na Na Na Na! Just be thankful it's here so we can watch it! What a great clip and the extreme closeup on his eyes and nose! Saw him last Fri. at Royal Festival Hall,London but having once lived in Amsterdam for a year,I would've rather been at this show. The Paradiso is tiny in comparison,I always loved that venue!Thanx for the post!

@Geepereet Thank you. :) I'm wondering the number of its tubes can be maybe changed in accordance with its use then. Music makes forever young. ;)

You can't hear his piano part? Of course he plays piano. He's playing softly, except in the last few bars, where he plays much louder.
