Launchpad Tutorial: Part 3 — Mixer Mode (English)

My songs are always either way too fast or far too slow, it has something to do with the tempo at the top but im not sure how to fix it, any help?

@megamurg Please could you tell us a little bit more about the problem you are having. Are you referring to the speed of tracks you are mixing in a DJ set?

i have a stupid question, i got my launchpad 5 hours ago and so far i've achieved nothing really :P, but please! i don't get the red rectangle around the clips i want to control on the launchpad i really don't know anything this is straight from scratch so any help is helpful

@xbuster17 DId you fixed it? the same happen here when i try to go from session to user mode 2 it glith and sometimes get stuck , im using hp G64 i5, 4 GB ram no soundcard and oxygen8 with ableton suite 8.1. i need this to be fixed i hate it i cant play live.

hi, when i'm in session view and record a session bringing clips in and out with the launchpad it all appears nicely in arrange view but if in my session i also did some solo'ing via the mixer mode it doesn't record that 'solo information only the clips coming in and out ? does the launchpad transmit midi when your in mixer mode and if so is there something i need to do

is there some system specs? just got my launchpad today and i'm a bit dissapointed couse it lags my computer and it takes a while to switch screen (not like in the video) is this a problem of my system?(intel i3, 3gb ram ,no soundcard{notebook}) or what =(? it's a shame couse the product feels really good and looks awesome but this might be a huge drawback .. it also randomly crashes sometimes . using ableton 8.1.1...plz reply

@xbuster17 the same happen here, it glitch when i go from seesion to user mode 2, and sometimes it freeze, im using hp G64 4GB RAM i5, no soundcard, oxygen 8 and launchpad ableton suite 8.1 but when i switch on the output for the launchpad to have a led response , it makes all of this, but when it is turned off, everthing works good, i change preferences and give more buffer to sampler and output but the latency goes really up. almos 127ms. anyway at least is working a little bit better .

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!

i bought a launchpad about 3 days ago, and i am really liking it so far.

however, i dont know how to assign fx and a drum rack to the launchpad. i am very new to ableton (i am using the novation ableton)

if someone could answer this and talk me through it, then it would be greatly appreciated

To Novation: Thank u for this wonderful product. But i think u should come up with this a bit earlier.I mean,novation was a huge "supporter" for ableton & visa versa.i remember the old days with remote zero & ableton.i think remote zero was meant for ableton mostly.Launchpad is more than welcome,but its time for you to move on & make a controller more feature rich,better than the apc40, no matter what the price would be.Lets hope thats only a start for more ableton dedicated controllers to come

To angeldustpro1: What's the beef? This thing is a great minimal controller. If you want knobs and faders get the behringer stuff (BCF2000)...so sense in reinventing the wheel. This is exactly what the live music community needs right now.

same price? apc40 costs 450 euros. launchpad is only 170 euros! the difference is HUGE! i got my apc40 a few weeks ago.. its amazing for the studio but sadly it cant fit to any of my gear bags :( ... This launchpad on the other hand.... its SUPER mobile...ok, there is a lack of faders and knobs...but novation managed to give us these features with the mixer mode... Not so handy...but hey... its 170 euros and u still get the mixer mode too... i am ordering one of these just for extra mobility..

Might work though if used in combination with something like the Nocturn or the Korg NanoKontrol.

These would take care of stuff like mixer, pans etc while the Launchpad essentially just triggers clips.

Then again, triggering clips is something that machines like the PadKontrol or the Akai MPD24 can do as well but while in the same price range have additional features (x/y pad with the PK and knobs/faders with the MPD24)...

Sorry but this way of handling is not realistic.

Waaay too much to keep in mind while working on a track, let alone performing live.

Novation should have either implemented a display so you can actually see where you are or they should have included some real faders or knobs.

All this switching between modes, button functions etc. is way too confusing.

there might be a lot to keep in mind but with practice, work would flow flawlessly. the launchpad is basically the APC40 minus everything but the pad matrix. we all know how flexible Live is and once you create a set, know your set and can navigate through the set, using the launchpad for production, or performance, should be cake.

again guys... this is an 170 euros (200 usd) priced unit.. i think that the whole concept from novation started there: "make us an apc40 alternative, looking like monome and place it in the market with extra low price". For 170 euros... SURE thats amazing... if its price was more than that, then everybody would turn for apc40 witch indeed has all the launchpad feature, plus real faders and knobs. But hey...for the price, thats an amazing toy!
