I've been researching stencils on the internet for a week or so. This explained a lot of things that are missing in other tutorials. Great job!!! Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge.
2:40 the unsprayed white parts would actually be black...not red because you have a black base...but whatever it doesnt matter i think everyone gets this at least i hope
before you spray the highlights stencil those parts would be black not the color of the wall. but you probably knew that already. I just had the unbearable urge to point it out >:D
this is really interesting and incredibly helpful. probably the best 'how to' video i've ever seen on youtube. you should be a teacher, or make instructional videos.
I'm not using this for bombing I'm using this for my shirts, I have already done a few but I was curios to see how the multi layered ones worked so thanks man 5 stars.
saw all ur vids they were fuckin good ur pretty funny and ur vids r good went to walmart and jacked a white krylon cause i had a black 1 already yes i grew balls and jacked it im workin on a bomb thanks to ur vid
Thank you very much, now I know what all those Simplicity and suchadjustments are for and what they do. You have simplified a great deal for this artist who is better with non PC art. Good teacher an apple for you from me.
I recommend the "stamp" option with two different settings for the separate layers in the submenu of "Filter" when using Adobe Photoshop Elements. It is a bit simpler. Set the light/dark settings. I am off to google Logan Hicks....
Excellent, Excellent, Excellent! The best photoshop stenciling tutorial in my opinion. To think I avoided it and decided to give it a try. The best tutorial on understanding Layering. Loved it!! Thank you very much for sharing. A tutorial without music for better understanding!! Thanks again!!
Bravo man, but I'm a little unclear on how you separate the colors onto individual sheets. I understand that the dark grey is the background, but how exactly do you get the picture to just be that mid-tone grey?
thanx alot....it was really helpful i'm usually completely technically disinclined but this doesn look so bad always wanted to learn how so thanx mucho mucho
hey! you are the best !! thanks for adding this videos it really helped me a lot, im new on this and i did a few stencils in photoshop yesterday but this is way more simple and easier in the good way. im happy now !!! thanks !! beCky
Thanks for all your tuts man. I've been trying ~5 layer stencils and have been coming up blank each time. I've been getting closer, but couldn't quite nail it. Your tuts have made the difference.
Hey man I watched all you videos I haven't tried it out yet but it seems as if it'll help me a lot and it has motivated me to begin bombing. I guess I'll begin and hopefully I can show you some of the stuff I do for tips/suggestions or what not :D
Its good, but when I do it, I just go to Artistic, then the multiply layer option, then print one out and put it up to a window and copy each layer. I then have three layers which I then cut on spray. Logan Hicks is amazing, I seriously want to do a massive New York scene to put above my bed!
Thanks man this helped a lot! Just one question, when you are printing out the different layers how do you isolate the different shades? or do you just print the image as is and ignore the parts you aren't cutting.
When you showed what the first two layers look like when sprayed, there shouldn't be any red on the inside because you filled that all in with your base. Just thought i'd point that out for continuity reasons
Check back this week, im going to make a stencil video of me actually cutting and spraying, a lot of people are still like huh? so yeah, that will finalize any help anybody else has.
i cant even tell u how much this helped, i saw some work that a friend of mine did, and i was like I WANA DO THAT, and maybe ill get onto the right track, thanks again.
Hey, I've followed your 2 layers and its going good, then when you done the video on the camera I got a little confused. How do you make the 3rd layer? Do you do any posterize and what digits on cutout do you do?

how do you print bigger stencils? like on a 18'' x 24'' if you have a regular printer? bc the paper is not big enough? thanks dude..

Good tutorial.. Nice, easy, modern, stencil prep. Days of tracing must be obselete :'(
Tip: For reuse & quality purposes use isotate sheets instead of paper or cardboard, a good stanleyBlade cuts em up in no time..Thats my 2cents
