@RickybLSD I bought this bike last summer... my first bike. I'm 6'2" and it fits like a glove. I love it. Very low seat, smooth ride, unbelievable balance. I looked long and hard at the Iron 883 and decided the Honda was more comfortable (and the price was right). Zero regrets... can't wait for summer.
Is it more reliable than a Harley Sporster Iron 883?? I am planning to get either a Honda Shadow or an Iron 883. Please suggest your opinions. I like the look of Shadow phantom much more.
@MrChutzpah2002 Sporster is for chicks dude, its HDs market to get to women....fortunately I found that out, was about to get a Street bob but with HD's reputation for reliability went for Shadow instead....
@wandfreak13 Go check it out at a dealership, its perfect for your size...its not big but its not some small bike either and look on KBB...I am getting a brand new 2011 for $7000.....out of the door price = $8000....
@MrMe1280 They're probably butt-hurt about spending $30-$40K on a bike only to have an $8K honda shadow get more attention. Honda has a pretty long heritage with motorcycles in the USA so even though it's a japanese company, it doesn't mean that it's not part of american history. That may bother some of the overly sensitive H-D riders as well.
@Thunderr10 FUCK EVERYONE ELSE DO WHAT YOU WANT........naw but seriously though it's like between beginner and intermediate youd have fun fast or slow
@Thunderr10 Good choice. The best advice I got was to NOT start on a bike that's too small. I have a Spirit 750 and it was easy to learn on, and I'm still not bored with it 2 years later. You should take a class first so you don't drop a brand new bike. I bought used but I never dropped it. I never took any classes either. Nice low seat height is a good thing. Good luck. Keep the shiny side up
Planning on getting a 2011 after I'm sure nothing is broken with the 2010's. I'm the kind of rider that takes 900 mile stints, sleeps on the ground, and doesn't pull over for the tornadoes. So I want something that isn't going to be in the shop every other week *cough*Harley*cough*. Honda has a pretty good rep for building solid bikes. Hope that rings true with the Phantom.
@Hei1Bao4 if you really ride that much you should look into the vtx 1300 it's the most comfortable and eazy to ride cruiser i've ever thrown my leg over.
@Hei1Bao4 obviously you have no idea what newer Harley's are about it still not a Harley and it will always want to be Harley not a cough Honda cough POS
Looks great, Honda needs to throw a side mounted license plate kit and clean up the horrible looking back end - same ugly rear as the older shadows. Other than that, the all black cosmetics w/ satin powdercoating and the fat tires/forks it looks great. Making Harley quiver a little bit with their overpriced Sportster 48, good job!
Sorry buddyboy, that bike doesnt look "mean", it actually looks like one of those gay Hardly Davisins from american. That would sell well to the american homosexual man, but in my country advertising your sexual preference is sort of frowned upon. No, I will stick to my Hayabusa. I like performance, and the look of my bike, and besides that, Im not homosexual.
@Georgenfla Hayabusa? Watch your lip when you're talking about my country, you piece of trash! In this country that lip would get you killed. Your problem is that your whole country is teeming with anal astronauts. F@ck ye!
I'm 5'3, beginner. I'm looking into getting this one. is it too big for me?
