I love the opening piece; the Habanera from Carmen. I'm sure at the time it was written, Bizet didn't expect it to be as popular as it is today! I'm sure he's absolutely thrilled that it is.
Flute displaye at 2:36: Thanks! I did some googling and have found a flute looking like this one, it was a Hawkes & Son (see website of mcgee-flutes). It is incredible how many different flutes were made and how different they all are..
@07boyce That was an anniversary edition silver plated Rittershausen flute. Soldered toneholes, excellent craftsmanship, made in Berlin, played wonderfully! Good luck finding another one of those, it's the only one I've ever seen!
Thanks for sharing your collection! I have the same flute as displayed on 2:36. I can't find any information on the web. It looks like a Claire Godfroy but not completely. Maybe a Fischer from NY? Do you know?
@VintageTenorSound That flute was an unmarked Pratten style in cocuswood with nickel silver keys. I'm unsure of manufacturer as there was no stamp whatsoever.
in 3:05 and 3:46, was that rabbit a hotot or a dwarf hotot? & the rabbits in 3:ll, what breed were they? i know that they were very young or very very small dwarfs, but most likely the first option. do u breed rabbits too? anyway me and my little sister were amazed at your flutes. she plays the flute so she was more interested then i, but i still found it very fascinating. do u have a double contra bass flute? or a subcontra or contrabass flute? were the flutes in the pics ur whole collection?<3
i ran out of room sorry. that is really awesome how you collect flutes. sorry for asking so many questions but iit really is the most iinteresting thing. hope you have luck on your collecting and repairing and reselling. <3<3<3
Hello and thanks for the comments! The rabbit = dwarf hotot (I think standard hotots are ugly!). The bunnies at 3:11 are also dwarf hotots but mismarked and were about 3 or 4 weeks old at the time that I took the photos. I have rabbits and sometimes breed them (once a year or so). All flutes in the photos were flutes I had collected and have never personally OWNED anything larger than a B foot flute =) Too much $ involved in the larger flutes! =)
I'm getting close to playing a reasonable scale,(learning fast!) so just wait another week or so and I'll post a vid of me calling bats with it...
It looks like a resin Gemeinhardt, and its got some age, with a little of the gold plate fading on the keys, but there is no visable name on it. I'm hopfull you can help identify it, because I hate owning unknowns. I've got a guitar that's defying all research right now, take a look, its one of the most amazing instruments I've ever held!
Outstanding collection effort! I want every one! The only flutes I have are a very early Evette and an unknown old Piccolo....In your vid at 4:53 there are two Piccolos, and mine looks just like the one on top. What is that?
At 4:53 the piccolos from top to bottom are: Christensen (basically a Haynes) in Db with sterling keys and headjoint and the bottom is a vintage Gemeinhardt 4PMH equivalent. Care to email me pictures of your unknown piccolo? Maybe I can help figure out what it is!
Hi! The last song is Dvorak's 2nd Slavonic Dance in e minor. By the way I really like your flute collection especially the wooden boehm flutes. I only own a Trevor J. James Privilége II. with ring keys and silver lip plate, but I love it.
Unfortunately I left those out! I've had 1: 1-key in F, 1: 1-key in C and 1: 1-key C piccolo/fife. Drop me a private message if you want those pictures!

What is that song... from an old tv show, featuring a flute as the melody? It was like ... do do do do do do?(repeat) Sounds like 6/8 time?

Wonderful! Can't help but notice there was an ocarina, panflute, and clarinet. And I don't think I saw any bass, alto, or treble flutes.

The second piece is "Bydlo" from Modest Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition". Very cool by a bunch of flutes!
