why can't the government let us choose what we use in our homes, people have been using the old style light bulbs for years. also the old style bulbs give an instant light whereas the CFL bulbs take time to warm up, useless unless you leave them on all the time. and the price of the CFL bulbs is a lot higher at least 3 times the price of the old bulbs.
@alistairstuart2009 what u also need to remember about these cfls is that they dont last as long as you're told. Therefore, you''l be stuck paying all that cash for a product that doesnt last long and that looks horrible. No matter how inefficient incandescents are, to me, there is no kind of light bulb that can give off the great warm light than a good old incandescent. I'm glad that there are millions of ppl like this person in the video who will not fall for these moronic green scams.
@RandomConcepts man shut the hell up. you and all your stupid eco terrorist friends are not gona force me to use any kind of ugly cfls. worry about what light bulbs you are using and stay ouf of other people's homes and businesses. the ban is so stupid, they are even repealing the bulb in a lot of states here in the US. That proves that u greenies are morons. the guy in this video obviously has good taste. incandescents give off warm and natural light. your cfls give off dirty shitty light.
@RandomConcepts why dont u learn that cfls will not save the planet. if anything, they will probably damage it with all the toxic shit thats running through it. Most ppl are not paranoid, like u eco friendly nut jobs thinking that cfls will clean the earth or that incandescents will melt the ice in the north pole killing the polar bears. when u and ur tree hugger friends start paying for other ppls light bill, then mayb u can have a say on what bulbs we can use. until then, fuck off
@RandomConcepts if u disagree with what hes doing in this video, then YOU'RE the one whos in denial. nobody should tell anybody the kinda bulbs u can use in ur home, especially if YOU'RE paying for your electricity.
@noreaga12326 This is what reading about too many conspiracy theories does to you fellows. I wonder why don't you all just use gas lamps or maybe torches to light up your homes. I hope you do realize that not all the costs of running your highly inefficient incandescent light bulbs are internalized so that in the end we all have to pay more for your pathetic paranoia about government intervention. It has the sole purpose of stopping irrational and wasteful consumer behavior like yours.
@LHFX Dont worry about how much energy im using. Last time i checked, i pay for my light bill so i'l decide how much energy i can "waste". 2nd, im not using shit light quality in my home just because "it saves energy" I dont care how energy efficient light bulbs are. If their light quality looks like crap, im not using it. You and your moron green friends are the paranoid ones. Instead of encouraging us to save energy, u wana force it on us. You and ur tree hugging friends can kiss my ass
@noreaga12326 As I said before, and I'm not saying it again as this will be the last reply, not all the costs associated with running 5 times less efficient appliances are reflected in your electricity bill and this is why the government has to intervene. Just try to learn more about the energy market and the externalities that go along with it before making such statements about me. And guess what, I also don't believe in the severity of the greenhouse effect as it is presented in the media.
@LHFX Let me put u on to something. there are many false promises that CFLs have. 1) They dont last, NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE LIFE SPAM as promised. 2) Even if they do last for years, they get dimmer with in that time period. 3) Even your idiot green friends say that if one breaks, u might have to pay $2,000 bucks to get a clean up crew to wipe out the toxic shit. 4.) CFLs do are not the only electric sources in ur home that conbribute to energy use.
@LHFX With incandescents, u have less to worry about. So from that being said, CFLs are not worth it. as i said b4, i think its safe to say that most Americans are capable of saving energy if they really want to. We are not stupid enough to have government telling us what we can use. Its amazing how you dumb liberals and government wana scam ppl into paying all this money to buy these bulbs that are shit. Again, worry about what you use as far as energy and quit being a paranoid little twerp
@noreaga12326 I use CFL's so I know how much they last, thank you. I've done the math using actual measurements and I've saved 60 EUR last year with capital costs considered and here in Romania where the average monthly salary is 500 USD, it means something. As for the mercury issue, not even counting the fact that one should recycle them, burning the extra coal for your bulbs releases 3 times more mercury than the amount contained in a CFL.THINK before investing in a ton of incandescent crap.
@LHFX oh that makes a lot of sense.. u say that incandescents burn coal which releases mercury into the air. However, if a CFL breaks in my house (And accidents do happen sometimes) that means i'l be breathing it into my own home? I love ur logic of thinking. Yes one should recycle cfls, however how many ppl do u really think are gona actually take the time to actually drive to a recycling center to dispose them properly. ESPECIALLY when u see how much gas is now a days. Use ur brain!
@LHFX It doesnt matter if CFLs have less or more mercury than anything. Even a little mercury can be harmful. However, when an incandescent breaks, you can save urself some time by throwing it away and not having to worry about the cost of a clean up crew. We've been using edisons for over 100 years and im still alive. Luckally that "mercury" realeased from coal hasnt killed me yet. Next, you're gona tell me that incandescents are responsible for the earth heating up. Get lost lib-tard
@noreaga12326 You gotta be kidding me.. hiring a team of "experts" for $2000 to remove 2-3 mg of mercury from your house? I've wasted way to much time talking to someone like you. You have no common sense my friend. Your average laptop, LCD TV, scanner, some types of batteries and many other household items have a lot more mercury in them. I'm pretty sure now that you are in no way able to make this decision by yourself. Hope LED's will drop in price soon enough so you won't be let in the dark..
@LHFX i cant make decisions for myself?? Looks whos talking. You dont even have a mind of your own. Whatever the government thinks or wants, you will do. Why would u wana be the governments bitch?? Is he paying for your light bill?? All you lib-tards are a bunch of paranoid busy bodies worrying about others. Worry about what bulbs YOU use and quit being a paranoid little girl. i promise u that this bulb ban will be ineffective simply cuz many ppl stocked up and will STILL be using edisons.
@noreaga12326 I aggree, they do sell halogen bulbs that look like the old style bulbs but they are way more expensive than old style bulbs. I think it is just a big con to get us to pay alot more for bulbs
@alistairstuart2009 i have to agree with u. I just recently went to someones house and notice they have a few halogen bulbs in their house. from what i see, they ALMOST look exactly like the old incandescents we're used to seeing. I kinda noticed a very slight different color in halogens. their light is just a bit cooler than the warm lighting in today's incandescents but again, its very little difference. the halogen bulb is not a bad replacement for today's incand. but i still prefer those
@alistairstuart2009 Because these greenies who are running for office are morons. In fact, i read something online that was posted on google on the 16th of this month that this efficiency standard might actually get lifted. From all the comments i read on that site, it looks as if this so called "banned" has been lifted but dont quote me on that. if i find the website, i'l message u the website.
@alistairstuart2009 the difference between halogens and the incandescents we used today is that the halogen has a small capcil inside the bulb which prevents it from getting very hot. It still gets warm but not as hot as the incandescents we use today. Thats how the halogen achieves its efficiency standard. Either way, this so called "energy efficiency standard" is stupid. I have stocked up on old skool bulbs anyway cuz u never know if these greenies change their mind and may wana ban halogens
I hope you and your collection get caught and all of your bulbs destroyed. What you are doing is a act of destruction. This needs to be dealt with by the authorities.
@stickedU and what you're saying is an act of being a moron. Its his house and his light bill so why should anyone tell him what bulbs he can use? If u ask me, this guy has wonderful taste. face it moron, MOST ppl will not fall for your green scams that you and your eco idiot friends are TRYING to push on us. Cant wait for your next post cuz as i said b4, i love watching u suffer. Face facts, edison bulbs aint going no where. I am doing exactly what this guy is doing. collecting forever!
Nothing wrong with going green, but don't force others to limit their resources, because you want them to. If someone wants a higher watt light bulb and is willing to PAY the higher electric bill. That is their choice.
@The86416 They will start understanding this and might use reverse psychology on you... which they will always do... when will this madness stop? You/me/we all need to start ignoring all media rubbish to warrant discussion in our everyday life so everybody understands. Don't get me wrong; I've lost friends; it's a hard road which in the end will all be worth it. Just live the life you want to see! <3
An excellent and very defiant stand against the Fascist EU Dictatorship. I too, have a lifetime's supply of the superior incandescent bulbs, the EU can shove their CFL bulb's up their arses. I hope tens of millions of people have stockpiled incandescents.
