  • i use to put this crap in my stomach. shame on you mom!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I hate to go against the grain, but, when I was a kid, I LOVED THEM.

  • I think we begged Mom to buy those for us and she finally gave in...I think the best thing in the dinner was the nestle's Quik. Funny how they can make the food look so good on a commercial.

  • They were awful, awful...

  • i lived on this wish they still made them

  • I still have a bunch of the empty dinner tins from these dinners. My dad used to wash them out and use them to mix his paints in when he painted back in the early 70's. But I still have about 10 or so clean ones that he never used. Nice nostalgia! You folks who describe how "nasty" the food was crack me up!! It WAS bad! LOL

  • @THEFOOTBALLFAN Dude your old man was a painter cool!

  • I used to love the smell of the box for some reason.

  • @eastlake93 I saw the commercial and the smell came back, it was, interesting...

  • we were introduced to this gem when our mother had a bad accident and was in the hospital for a month

  • If these Libbyland dinners were around right now, I wonder if a microwavable version of them would be out?

  • And I thought kid cuisine was bad

  • LOL!!! Thooose were the days!

  • libbyland was punishment for me XD

  • i remember begging my parents for these and then hating them....of course I never let on or they would have been furious

  • I used to LOVE these things! I can still taste the hot dogs and baked beans!

  • Hot Dog WITH macaroni and meatballs?!! Man that would be cool if they did that today. But then some lady's fat kid would get fatter and she'd make a fuss about how the TV diner made him fat.

  • I remember those. The chocolate pudding was nasty. But the hot dog and hamburger and the spaghetti was good.

  • @Sheri451 loved the burger one...the chocalate quick was a treat in our house

  • @Sheri451 My mom bought them for us once and they were gross, everytime we went shopping she would ask us if we wanted those dam things. We would holler no!

  • Mean Gene looks like Cap'n Crunch's disillusioned cross-dressing cousin

  • the macaroni with meatballs looks like diarrhea even in the ad.

  • the macaroni with meatballs looks like diarrhea even in the ad.

  • I used to eat these while watching "Zoom." I remember this vividly. I also remember that the french fries tasted like the burnt chocolate pudding they were next too. Gross 70s food. But memorable!

  • This thing had a hot dog AND pasta with meatballs?? Plus fries, corn, and whatever the F that is in the middle-hell, with all that other food, you can just throw whatever that is away. Those Banquet and Freezer Queen or whatever meals you get now just suck. 4 chicken nuggets, 3 fries, and 12 kernels of corn. Not even a friggin brownie.

  • the food looks nasty

  • I always had simple tastes...I actually looked forward to when mom was going out. Usually on a Friday night, while watching my ABC lineup! I loved them and never forgot them, LOL!

  • That chocolate pudding was nasty!

  • Who could forget the chicken fingers and the hot chocolate pudding?

  • i wonder if the taste has changed!!

  • Remember the Libby's jingle (for other Libby's products?) with a bunch of kid's singing in unison:

    "If it says Libby's, Libby's, Libby's

    On the label, label, label,

You will like it, like it. like it

    On your table, table, table"!

  • I remember on Fri nights when the parents didn't want to cook we got stuck with this crap..The pudding was hard and it took awhile to heat up....Cool commercials though..thanks

  • I remember those!

    And they were gross!

  • those Libbyland dinners had a cute Pirate diorama, but the food was gross.

  • This ad dates from 1973...

  • Nothing like heating up the oven (and house) for something costing 97 cents.

    Thanks for posting.

  • Too funny

  • Mean Gene Okerlund

  • I remember the way the box folded up...

  • Wow! A metal plate!

  • Those things look kind of gross. :P

  • i,ve never been so scared in my life

  • weird creepy stuff back then sinister...

  • Voices in this Libby the Kid commercial include Paul Frees and John Erwin.
