I think we begged Mom to buy those for us and she finally gave in...I think the best thing in the dinner was the nestle's Quik. Funny how they can make the food look so good on a commercial.
I still have a bunch of the empty dinner tins from these dinners. My dad used to wash them out and use them to mix his paints in when he painted back in the early 70's. But I still have about 10 or so clean ones that he never used. Nice nostalgia! You folks who describe how "nasty" the food was crack me up!! It WAS bad! LOL
Hot Dog WITH macaroni and meatballs?!! Man that would be cool if they did that today. But then some lady's fat kid would get fatter and she'd make a fuss about how the TV diner made him fat.
@Sheri451 My mom bought them for us once and they were gross, everytime we went shopping she would ask us if we wanted those dam things. We would holler no!
I used to eat these while watching "Zoom." I remember this vividly. I also remember that the french fries tasted like the burnt chocolate pudding they were next too. Gross 70s food. But memorable!
This thing had a hot dog AND pasta with meatballs?? Plus fries, corn, and whatever the F that is in the middle-hell, with all that other food, you can just throw whatever that is away. Those Banquet and Freezer Queen or whatever meals you get now just suck. 4 chicken nuggets, 3 fries, and 12 kernels of corn. Not even a friggin brownie.
I always had simple tastes...I actually looked forward to when mom was going out. Usually on a Friday night, while watching my ABC lineup! I loved them and never forgot them, LOL!
I remember on Fri nights when the parents didn't want to cook we got stuck with this crap..The pudding was hard and it took awhile to heat up....Cool commercials though..thanks
i use to put this crap in my stomach. shame on you mom!!!!!!!!!!!

If these Libbyland dinners were around right now, I wonder if a microwavable version of them would be out?

Remember the Libby's jingle (for other Libby's products?) with a bunch of kid's singing in unison:
"If it says Libby's, Libby's, Libby's
On the label, label, label,
You will like it, like it. like it
On your table, table, table"!

Nothing like heating up the oven (and house) for something costing 97 cents.
