  • my name is Mostafa and i live in Alexandria :)

  • I got to know this lovely song from Lebanese, Egyptian, Palestinian, and Yemenite students while I was in medical school in my native Hungary in the 1970s. We all enjoyed it and seemingly no one had an issue with claiming ownership. We all understood that it belongs to the WORLD CULTURE, with Middle Eastern/Arabic heritage. Sadly, some people attack each other and use foul language on these pages... please try to be civil and enjoy the song instead of fighting!

  • Im russian origin jew metalist and i actually like the song :D

  • Not three languages but four! Pomodoro is Italian. Thanks for posting this song, I will sing it until I die!

  • I remember hearing this when I was serving with the RAF in Cyprus in the 60's! We all loved it then and the locals could never understand why! Neither did we, but we loved it anyway.

  • el francés es el idioma del amor, el alemán, según rammstein "el idioma de la rudeza" pero el árabe es el idioma de los graandes, el idioma de la superioridad, "i'm not only perfect, i'm lebanese too" امير فرح

Bob Azzam is not the son of Abdel Wahab...He is of Christian Lebanese origin, but born and raised in Egypt...This also refutes jack11anbar's contention that Mr. Azzam was Jewish.

  • Guys, this song is an Egyptian song, sung by Bob Azam, who was of Lebanese origin and lived in Egypt in the time when Egypt was a cosmopolitan country, and was economically and culturally flourishing. He was one of Egypt's jews, who soon afterwards ( after that era) decreased dramatically. He is one of those who will be a constant reminder of a time when tolerance and diversity was only natural in Egypt.

  • yesssssss, true words!!thank you.

  • I first heard this tune in Germany in 1962. Became very popular. The German version was warning Mustafa, who was infatuated with the sultan's daughter, to forget about her and save his life.
