  • I know everyone wants to beat these animals but let's be real any big cat will rip your face off I've heard when they attack with its paw the force can be up to10 000pounds.

  • Alex doesn't want to be fed...he wants to HUNT

  • When cookie wanted to be petted that is the social conditioning of being around humans her entire life. When she growled as a person approaches her food, that is her own biology at work.

  • Alex and Cookie are so cute!!

  • Question: regarding Alex's behavior of jumping on (actually: attacking) someone each time they turn their back on him - I actually know it is something that Tigers are "supposed" to do. Apparently, turning your back and moving away from the tiger basically makes her recognize you as a prey - triggering predatory behavior. I am surprised to hear that you perceive this behavior as "unusual". Why do you think this is not happening with the other tigers you have in your sanctuary?

  • @br1p87 You're right given this opportunity many of our tigers may do something similar, yet Alex was doing this all the time and it's not a good behavior to have, so like Scott said we didn't encourage this like his previous friends in Mississippi. H as calmed down alot now :)

  • @BigCatRescue Thx for the explanation!

  • I think you guys are doing a great job but the only thing I didn't agree with was at the end of the video when you mentioned that Cookie gets aggressive when it comes to food. ANY animal gets aggressive during meal time -- even your pet dog would. That doesn't mean they're ready to kill people. Check out Christian the lion, you'll be surprised.

  • Thanks :) True with many animals when it comes to food they're aggressive, but we KNOW these cats are always capable of attacking and killing if they feel like it! Christian the lion is exemption to the rule. His owners knew it was ready to move him on because he was getting too rough and they were just lucky he wasn't aggressive when they encountered him later on.

  • haha... she sprayed on you!!! and at the camera man?.. :)

  • We're pretty sure he's the same weight, he looks in good condition and ALWAYS eats well! We just don't get them on the scales very often!! :)

  • Thanks i was just curious

  • It's kind of funny how Cookie tried to mark you as her territory.(spraying you) :D

  • Yeah, I know you need to have quick reflexes, never been sprayed yet though, so far so good! :)

  • First off i think its great and a blessing what u guys do for these big cats and i just want to say thank you cuz i'm an extreme tiger fan among others. But hey i got a question for you guys. Shere kahn is he still 750 lbs. like u said he was in that one video? Or has he gotten any bigger or has he lost weight.

  • When it comes to food, big cats will become violent.

  • Definitely, never mess with a tiger's dinner!

  • Has Alex changed a little bit now?

  • Yep, he has got a lot better and is calmer in his behavior which is safer for both us and Alex :)

  • that is the scariest thing iv ever seen. havin a tiger jump for u when u turn ur back on him!! what the hell did they teach them? something not nice anyway

  • You guys are a God Send to the these amazing animals. People need to figure out that these wild cats don't make good pets and more importantly how expensive it is to care for them properly. As well the tourist traps that make the animal photo ops w/ cubs should be outlawed. You don't even have to have a license to own a Tiger in my state. That's insanity...

  • It is insanity, what state do you live in?

  • Alabama! hahaha

  • do u evr let a few of them live in the same cage together?

  • Josephs Pride (2 lions & 2 tigers) live together as do Cameron (male lion) and Zabu (female white tiger) and shere kahn and china doll (tigers) If they lived together where we rescued them form we try and keep them together unless it's obvious they would rather have their own enclosure and be happier that way.

  • aahh ook thank u tht answers my question

  • Hai Cookie!

    - *ROAR*

  • yes.. One day. :)

  • We really shouldn't be suprised by the way alex reacts towards human.

I think alex is just being a typical tiger, that's all. All tigers are supposed to be aggressive, wild, and dangerous. And they are incredibly CUTE too. Big kitty cat.

  • should you keep them haunting?? instead of giving them the food? Greetings from argentina!!!

  • Hi! Not really these cats will never be released back into the wild, these are big dangerous cats and feeding time is very serious, we want to get the food in there as quickly and safely as possible make sure we get a good look at them while they are eating then leave them alone. Keep watching in Argentina!

  • I live in Phoenix, Arizona :/

  • Yeah, that's more than a 30 min bus ride :) One day...

  • I could watch These videos all day! :)

I wish i could come to flordia just for the tour :P

  • Keep on watching! Where do you live?

  • MY FOOD

  • Oh! When I'm with friends I never hug them surprisingly or force them to do anything. I normally ask what they want to do or open my arms for a hug, because I want to be nice with them. I won't rush it unless we're really good friends that knows each other very well and accept each other. And humans are dangerous like the cats too! Big cats is, as I see it now, like a human relationship, not a pet! What you said in these videos made me see that. Thanks! I'll remember this from now on :)

    Mille 15

  • Hi! When Cookie, or any of the other tigers at BCR spray on you, are they trying to mark you as their property? It does seem that they deliberately aim at you! LOL!!

  • Maybe so? Don't think so though, just spraying that area again to mark their territory :) They haven't got me yet!

  • where are you guys located?

  • We are located at:

12802 easy street, tampa, florida 33625

When are you coming for a tour???

  • how much

  • It's $25 for a regular day tour, $50 for the feeding tour and $100 for the keeper tour, check out our website BigCatRescue*org for times and more info, hope you make it!

  • what a amazing place for thease big cats, thank you for al the videos, keep posting and , bless all of you

  • Thanks for watching and commenting, we will keep the videos coming don't worry:)

  • Tigers are born predators. This just shows how agressive and dangerous a tiger can be. If only they don't eat human and domestic pets, i really like to spend a day in closure studying them.

By the way is Alex a siberian tiger?

  • Are there any places that rescue big cats in Virginia? I would really enjoy helping them for free.

  • Not that I'm aware of? Just move to Tampa and come volunteer at BCR!

  • sounds like cookie is laughing when shes eating lol

  • Yeah she's a strange one to watch eating, very food aggressive though as you could see!

  • haha wow alex is a big boy. if he did tht i would scream but also be amazed lol

  • He is a big tiger, he's slowly getting better and not doing that much at all now, which is good for him and the keepers!

  • We really shouldn't be suprised by the way Alex reacts toward human. I think Alex is just being a typical tiger that's all. Wild tigers are supposed to be aggressive, wild and dangerious. And they are insanely CUTE too. Big kitty cat. ^_^

  • This is true tigers can be wild, dangerous and aggressive whenever they want to be! Yet his behavior like Scott said in the video was formed because of the reaction people gave him when he did it. He as made a lot of improvement since this video was shot which is safer for the people who work around him :)

  • Instead of calling the lion/tiger mix liger, you guys should call it a Tigon. <---- Its sounds cooler.

  • You might be right, did you know ligers are bred from a male lion and female tiger then the tigon is vice versa? Thanks for watching!

  • Thats good to know, I guess the vice versa Would be the Tigon. Thanks for responding back.

  • yep, no probs.

  • Thx for sharing Alex and Cookie. Glad to hear that Alex is not jumping up so much.

  • No problem thanks for watching!

  • I agree it doesn't seem cute to me when he does it, but he is getting better now and realises he doesn't have to jump up to get attention at Big Cat Rescue!

  • Apparently though, rampart racism is throughout the human gene pool. Excellent to know.

  • hey do you have the liger video?

  • Yep it's on the way it'll be posted either today or tomorrow!

  • Sadto know that Cookie had her claws removed.People

are so ignorant when it comes to wild animals.Cats have clawsfora reason.Declawing should be illegal.Period! You

should make a video on this subject.Beautiful tigers.

  • You're right, I wish it was illegal, thanks for the comment!

  • yeah she's a friendly tiger until food is thrown into the mix!

  • Allex and Cookie

    So beautiful~

  • Loved it...great job reminding us that they are still wild animals!!!

  • i know right some ppl dont understand that no matter what they are wild animals and they will flip out one day...

  • There is so much education in such a short video. Thanks for the great care and setting the example of how exotic animals should be properly cared for if they are living in captivity.

  • GREAT JOB GUYS!!!!!!

  • We have food aggressive cats at the humane society that i volunteer at, and those small cats are dangerous if your not paying attention. So a food aggressive tiger would be a nightmare!

  • You guys @ Big Cat Rescue are doing absolutely wonderful work in saving these magnificent creatures.

  • Keep on saving.

  • very inspiring video!

  • nice name, cookie i love cookies, and i love tigers :o ^^

  • That is so awesome, they are so georgeous. Bless you for what you do by helping out.

  • where did they buy the tigers in missisippi

  • Awesome job BCR. Nice meeting the new rescues. ;)

  • They are absolutely gorgeous!!

Just like an oversized kitty! ;-)

  • This is an excellent video, being both entertaining and informing. You can tell the narrator really enjoys his work.

    Why do tigers spray visitors?

Also, what's wrong with too much chicken? Protein is protein!

  • Thank you, it's hard not to enjoy working with big cats everyday! Tigers just spray to mark their territory and if you're in the way they don't care, as for just eating chicken for a big cat diet, you're right protein is protein but in the wild they would be eating a wide variety of prey and get different benefits from each. Scott was talking about the "mush" which is a ground meat made from the organs etc.. of animals with nutrients and vitamins, in the wild cats will eat whole prey.

  • can i buy a lion cub

  • Plus, they'd probably get bored eating nothing but chicken as they had to at that awful "sanctuary" they came from. Although, when we visited and Shere Khan's back was turned at the water trough, China Doll snagged his chicken quarter!

  • Question:

I realize that all wild cats are dangerous but in your experience is one cat species more dangerous than another? I realize that these cats all have unique personalitys both good & bad but as a norm do you have to be more cautious with one breed versus another such as cougars versus a lions or Jaguars versus tigers?

  • I'd probably go with leopards being the most difficult to work with, they are big, but not massive like tigers and lions and they are very smart and quick which is very dangerous if the cat doesn't like you. Lions can be awkward as they are very protective of their territory and any cats they share their enclosure with.

  • I love happy endings :) Keep up the good work.

  • wow intresting...good thing i didnt forget to subscribe :)

i never new about freckles tho :)

ligers can actually grow to be pretty big since the lions and tigers dna together doesnt form a stoping point in growth of the liger

    btw im 12 lol

dont think im a nerd or something tho

  • Beautiful cats! So grateful to BCR for having rescued Alex and Cookie (and all the other cats), and for educating the public to the truth about them, which can only help them.

  • i love tigers they are amazing! that's why i sub this channel!

  • Thank you!

  • Thank you for helping the tigers!

  • Awesome tigers.

  • Use the technique they do in India! They would wear face masks on the backs of their heads so that the tiger would still think you're looking at him.

  • Alex and Cookie look very happy. Thank you for rescuing them and providing them a forever home.

  • Thanks for the commenting, watch out for Freckles the liger!

  • Wow Alex looks huge on camera, is he a Siberian like Shere Khan?

  • He may have some siberian genetics in him, he is a big tiger and looked even bigger when he was in an enclosure with nor roof!

    Thanks for watching!

  • This VID WAS GREAT

  • Lol at Cookie. :P

  • I've been wondering about them, thanks for posting this... Keep up the good work :)

  • If I had a million dollars to spare, I would so definitely give it to you!

Love your good work. keep it up as long as you can!

  • Thanks for the wonderful work you do with Tigers, Ligers, and LIons. Really enjoy your videos! =)

  • nice new intro..hope to visit the cats sometime this year???

  • Just so you know I keep you all in my prayers and support you in ALL that you do. Tigers are very close to my heart and very excited that you now have a Liger. My wife and I are making plans to come and visit and volunteer for some of the grunt vwork..lol. Seriously though thank you all for what you do.
