i called akai and they said its the buffer set it to lower then go up. mine set to 800 works better.GOd bless!!!!! jesus loves ya

i just bought an MPK49, using it on an iMac with Leopard, and my Note repeat and Arpeggiator will not work when using external sync.

i was running my mpk49 off pro tools off a 2 gig hardrive and it was doing the same thing timing wise. I upgraded to 4 gigs and it seemed to stop. Also we realized that if you are opening your beats from a external hardrive it will slow it will knock of the timing as well.

The MPK is a great concept but until they fix these bugs it's a PIECE OF SHIT! Unless you like more headaches than production time, don't buy the MPK!

Their customer support is SHIT too! I don't know why they just don't get their shit togetheR!

To top it all off about 4 months after I bought my piece of shit a little tiny 1 inch plastic piece broke off and I lost my A3 key function! I took it apart to repair it but the way it's designed, it's easier to just replace the entire keyboard!

QUESTION:

When making a loop, can I divide it into different tracks right on the MPK, like on the MPC, or do you have to record each track separately into the computer software, in order to be able to mute certain things during portions of the song?

IF YES: Can I copy certain tracks, like drums for example, for my next loop, on the MPK as well?

IF NO: If you make a mistake on the keys while recording a loop, do you have to remake the entire loop, even drums?

T, Is the memory on your MPK49 volatile? If I power down my computer then power it back up again (so the MPK49 also powers down then back up) all the settings I have saved are are lost! What's up with that?!

I had the same problem with the mpd16 when hitting the pads. uninstalled the driver and reinstalled and it cleared up the problem.

I had the same problem with another midi controller in cubase sx. The only thing that fixed the problem was to connect it with a midi cabel instead of the usb cabel.

you may have the AUTO QUANTIZE in SX3 ON. also you NEED TO MAKE SURE that your quantize setting in cubase sx3 is set THE SAME as the MKP49

you NEED to check the quantize settings in cubase.. you might have it set to AUTO quantize when you record in.. You also need to sync your settings in cubase.. if your mpk49 is set to 1/16th triplet notes you need to ALSO set Cubase to 16th triplets.. IM willing to bet there is NO issues with the MPK49 nor cubase.. just a MIDI setting your missing.

Next time try calling AKAI or STEINBERG support

@TripleXBeatz I have this exact same problem in Logic Pro 9. I only noticed it recently, though I've been using note repeat and the arpeggiator for a while. I don't think it's a quantization issue... I've checked all and rechecked the quantization settings in logic, and I've verified my swing and gate are set straight on the MPK (50 and 50)

Weird thing: there's no offset if I record from the start of the track, but there is offset if I record from some arbitrary point in the middle.

Man Terrence we thought it was just us but this MPK does have its issues. We running Reason 4.0 and have called Akai tech support but have yet to get someone to lay it down on what can be done. Pro Tools info is scarce they didn't even have a MPK on hand to test & confirm the issues to top it off.

We will continue to hammer at it our self and post a vid when its all working (note repeat, timing, arpeggiator)

Did you set up the keyboard with USB or MIDI to midiinteface?

If its USB then i´m quite shure its because of USB. There are always problem with the USB.
