she has one major advantage over Blanka Vlasic and that is her height, she is 180cm and Blanka is 193cm, it is more difficult to maneuver a long bod over the bar than a short body. Female jumpers should be 180-185.

And in all seriousness, Blanka will never jump 210cm because it is a mental barrier for her, I saw her once jump 206cm at least 10cm above the bar, so physically she can do it. I bet if you say to Blanka to jump 205cm (in fact it is 210cm) she would do it!

Was Stefka Kostadinova clean? I'm not trying to wind people up or anything. Its just we know that the East Germans, Soviets and Romanians were systematically doping in the 1980's so I have to ask the question, were Bulgaria doing the same? Yordanka Donkova's WR in the 100m Hurdles is very fishy indeed, so I have to ask the question of Stefka. Not accusing her, just a genuine question as she was around during a time when Eastern Europeans were doping on a grand scale.

It was systematic doping in Eastern Europe, while in the USA it was a bit more of an individual thing. One thing is for sure the US Government were not organising the US athletes to be doped to the gills.
