So the majority of covers are going to "sound just like the original", something you are apparently against. Honestly the only similarity between this version and the original is the ukulele. There are no horns or percussion and it's a female voice versus a males voice. So I don't know how much different you expect a "cover" to be.

I was saying that I think a cover should be different in some ways--making it a creative take or tribute to the song. That's all. But, as a side note, there are many covers that have drastic changes from the originals that are fun and enjoyable too. Me First And The Gimme Gimmes pop into my head immediately.
