  • I would really help if your listed the chords in the info section!

  • Fm11 - Ab13 - Dbmaj9 - C7#9. That's what it is.

  • This is extremely beautiful! I actually shed a tear.

Can you make another one of these? :)

  • This is so smooth I can spread it on bread with ease.

  • it's beautiful! i sing along - sunny, yesterday my life was filled with rain)

  • You are awesome! Thanks for the tutorial

  • I've got a question... if you were to improvise, how do you know what chords to hit? They almost sound like you magically plucked them out of the air and they just seem to melt into each other, it's awesome. Are there stock progressions you memorize, like in classical piano?

  • @arcturian627 It depends on how you want to go in the progression. There are a few progressions like. 2-5-1, 7-3-6-2-4-1, 5-1, 3-6-2, etc.. Based on how you want it to sound play any number of the scale and you should be fine.

  • hey! his is kenny barrons sounds) very cool) God bless!

  • Just learnt this the way you play it, sounds beautiful, thankyou <3

  • WOW man... I only ever knew the very basics on the keys but today I decided to search youtube to learn a little technique. This is one of the first vids I fine and I am floored at how you lay it out. I want to make this sound and learn this style so bad. I play bass at my church and have always wanted to play behind a keyboard doing this sorta thing. I am jumping into all your vids man. You are teh awesome. Blessings bro.

  • thank you man

  • thx 4 the info

  • thats my keyboard

  • Wow, its been a long while since i've seen this video. These are the same exact chords as Why from Tonex

  • This chord progression is soooo smooth! If you & your band jam to this then I'm sure it would make an awesome upload. As a classically trained pianist to grade 5 I've always struggled with gospel, jazz & 'open' chords, but your tutorials have given me the confidence to explore & keep at it! Many thanks :-)

  • excelente amigo...

  • 7ths, 9ths, 11ths and 13ths. Ah, the dominant family chords. Very nice work.

  • I am just learning to play, cant play good enough to hold a service....YET... but thank you for taking the time to post somethings you have learned. There are so many ppl out there who can play in my area and will not even teach those trying to learn. Thanks again for not being selfish!

  • You a bad man! Loving the tutorial.

  • could u send me the notes in LH/RH

  • @CJL21497 Take it slow and be sure to write down the info.

  • @StarlingSounds

    ok thanks ill do that

  • what key is this in?

  • i used these chords in a track i produce and they came out wonderful.... message me your email please... i wanted to send you the track and officially get permission to use em

  • That was beautiful !!! God has blessed you and may He bless you even more !!!!

  • Your Tutoral methods are stellar! I appreciate the way you take your time in breaking down each chord. I see many tutorials here on YT posted like everyone already knows how to play the chords as well as playing them fast. You'd be a great piano teacher. Big props to you. May God continue to bless you in your endeavors.

  • Sounds so good luv it bro!

  • Do you have the notes and chords to this song? Can u send me that if u have them?

  • @Westcoastmusiclover I do not have them written down. I spell out every note so just write them down Lh/Rh and you will be fine..

  • @Westcoastmusiclover YEA ME 22

  • @Westcoastmusiclover

    Fm11 - Ab13 - Db6(9) - C7(alt)

Also try substituting the Ab13 with an Eb of some sort - you will get a very commonly used (and cool) progression used mostly in bossa and latin music :-)

  • this video was very helpful to me during service it got everyone on one accord. would you mind doing another video like this in a flat?

  • amazing, watched the main tutorial parts of the video only a few times yesterday and can already play it without looking! I have never had 1-to-1 lessons only picked up few things from youtube tutorials. Either you're an amazing teacher, or im a genius lol... lets not rule out the genius possibility just yet!

  • Those are some seriously fine chords. Plain beautiful.

    Thanks forever.

  • Very Similar to - Just the two of us - Bill Withers

  • that sounds so awesome...is there some theory behind such chord combinations or sometihng...

  • Is this possible on guitar at all? i hear some note combinations that do seem impossible.. perhaps a different tuning.

  • @coldfustion You don't have to do the same voicings as he's doing but yeah you can do those chords on guitar.

  • so hard

  • Awesome. Keep it up.

  • Great playing! Blessings.

  • god bless you brother

  • @younginspiration1 u can do it... im only fifteen but im Riffing metal scales

  • man im 13 i can`t wait till i can play like that

  • @younginspiration1 -- Prayer and Practice = Success.

  • @StarlingSounds Starling is so helpful, just grab your laptop or download it and tape the names on the keys... you'll get it, and godbless

  • @StarlingSounds what exactly are you practicing to get the chords in that progression for the right hand. The left I can understand ...i see it as the bass line but how to you suggest I know what RH notes to play? Is it just trial and error to get them to sound smooth or is there theory because I am trying to learn how to play talk music and I just want to know a formula that I can used improv talk music or start making my own combinations. Thanks

  • real real nice sounds

  • This is so awesome! Thank you so much for this!

  • @aleee46 Garageband Mac Software - Orchestra Steinway

  • i really love this progression omg i like to make up stuff on piano myself, for some reason this sound really familiar, but at any rate its awesome.

  • thanks for the great video on smooth chords this is blessing for your help

thank you keep up the good work

  • I never knew I could be envious it's so smooth it's making me angry lol just kidding thanks for this bro.

  • brother, can you tell me which notes you play as the short crossovers? it's hard to see it

  • From a guitarist point of view ur playing a 5th chord w/o 3rd on the left hand and then the maj7 or whatever of the same chord with ur right hand. I always wondered how piano players would do their chords.

  • pure Jazz

  • Sounds more like gospel to me.

  • amazing i can listen again and again and again, I love it

  • scribd (dot) com/nb812

  • I loved this video when i first saw it about 6 months ago. I was just beginning to play piano. I played this in church last sunday. All i can say is thank you

  • amazing!!!

  • thanks alot.....but to say the truth im not interested in playing the exact keys, but rather putting them togther to express my mood, feelings, and play for hours just listening to my fingers do the work while i just listen to them and adjust at the same time....

  • In love (L)

  • I tried playing this today. Some of those chords are a big stretch!

  • @simplybecauseIam They actually sound a lot cooler then they are in the measurement of hard-ness. To bad i cant explain the progressions in English.. Its not called the same thing in Sweden.. But you basically lower the lowest note in the right hand making it a 6 or a 7.. Its extremely easy if you change how you play the actual chord. I think the dude who made this video hasn't really optimized em for anyone but himself like you would normally do :D Send a private message if you wanna know more

  • you the best

  • i could listen to u playing for hours days nights etc etc

  • love it

  • nice, I wish I could play like that

  • those chords are sweet

  • Thank you!

  • you're great!

    Thank you in advance,

    Vanessa
