This movie is not even confirmed yet. And Johnny Depp, although he would look great as The Riddler, will probably not be in the movie. I loved how they revamped the series with Batman Begins and Ra's algoul sp? was fantastic but I was left wanting more of Johnathan Crane's story! The actors are all TOP NOTCH so far in this series, so I don't want them to blow it now!

Yeah I know. I see you don't think he'll be good. But after you see it you might change your mind. I did about Heath when I saw the Dark Knight. I thought Heath Ledger was too serious (see his other movies) to play a maniac like the Joker.
I thought that the Joker was too much of a comic role for him to pull off, but I had goosebumps "Wanna know how I got these scars?"

I'd heard they're considering either Johnny Depp or David Tennant as the Riddler. Though this is still just a rumor, I think they'll both be absolutely brilliant. Why Johnny is a more widely known name (no one in the US really knows about DT), Johnny Depp seems like an actor who would have a lot more going on and might be harder to get for a lengthy project.

So that's a legit poster? Cool. What I do know is Riddler will be in the next movie. "Rumored" (they say to keep us guessing) villains are Catwomen (Racheal Weis from "The Mummy"), the Penguin (Phillip Seymore Hoffman), and yes the return of Scarecrow and the Joker.

Now they wanted Scarecrow to have a bigger part so that's why the talk of bringing him back. The Joker is suppose to come back because the studio didn't plan on Heath Ledger dying. What I rreaad was that they had some scees that didn't go in "THe Dark Knight" they could use and do the whole Brandon Lee thing like in "The Crow".

In the new animated series the riddler has black hair and is almost gothed out, which would be more Johnny Depps style, but if we're talking old school then no one can top Jim Carey. Johnny would do a good job because he's Johnny Depp but I think I would still love Jim Carey's version more.

This movie is not even confirmed yet. And Johnny Depp, although he would look great as The Riddler, will probably not be in the movie. That's what I think, maybe the studio will find someone who's not in the Hollywood's top ten most well-payed actors. I have a video about it, it's called "Thoughts about Batman 3", just check it out!

@savid03 I would love David Tennant as the Riddler! I always thought that the Batman film franchise should have 1 villian per movie! It started out that way then they went with 2! So that's why IMHO that the franchise hasn't ever lived up to it's potential! I loved how they revamped the series with Batman Begins and Ra's algoul sp? was fantastic but I was left wanting more of Johnathan Crane's story! The actors are all TOP NOTCH so far in this series, so I don't want them to blow it now!

That's a fake rumor. There already is a newer series of animated Batman movies, where they show everything in between the two movies. The sequel will obviously be after The Dark Knight.

C'mon, playa...everyone knows that Jim Carrey's Riddler was an attempt at The Joker in question-mark tights...Johnny Depp is a much more seasoned actor and can bring some emotion to the character and bring that seriousness...If people watch more than just POTC, they know Depp would be a solid pick for a REAL Riddler role.not trying to hate or anything, just making a point, Im disappointed in people who see Carrey's Riddler as a great performance when it had no similarities to Bob Kane's Riddler

This is true. Neither the rumors of Johnny Depp or Phillip Seymour Hoffman as the Penguin has been verified or even spoke of at all for the third movie with Nolan.
Bale and him have both said that they would like to finish a trilogy, maybe even a fourth if they could find the proper material ... And Depp and Hoffman have both replied to questions about roles saying that it "Would be fun, but they haven't heard the talks."
