if you shop in Dunnes you will have no trouble buying 32" to 40" jeans but not so easy to find 30" jeans to buy. When I was buying 30" jeans I had a bmi of 25(5'9" high and 12 stone approx. I was thinking to myself what would happen if I was thinner, I would have to buy jeans somewhere else. I hope to be back at 12stone soon, I lost my way a little. It is surprising though how people see you as "anorexic" even though you are technically overweight, this was before I hit 12 stone.
I would say that the celtic tiger/boom had something to do with this weight gain. People spent a lot of time working/stressed etc. Less time for exercise and cooking healthy food etc. Some people have taken up exercise again, this is only anectdotal by me, I see more cyclists on the roads. Hopefully more people will take it up exercise again. People are probably more stressed now than ever and exercise can help I have heard.
I definitely didn't get anymore encouragement to lose weight once I hit 13 stone which was still overweight, unbelievable really
