Now, I realize why the animation in this looks differant, compared to the series: it resembles more of the original manga style, by Kiyohiko Azuma. Azuma would later change his art style for "Yotsuba&!" and the "Azumanga Daioh" anime copied that more simple style for the series.

when i found my cousin's dvd set for Azumanga Daioh, it said on the back that there was a movie, so I thought it was about 2 hours long, which is the normal length of a movie, but when i watched it on the dvd, it was only about 3 minutes. i also noticed that the in the TV show, Osaka doesn't have, you know, boobs. but in the mini-movie, the anime design is different, so it looks like Osaka ISN'T flat-chested anymore?!? (I was a little snoopy by looking down there, though. HA!)

Osaka's voice actually fits pretty well when you think about it. Southern people are known for talking slower than northerners, which is an essential character trait for her.

It's kind of hard to dub Anzu Manga Daioh because of it's heavy reliance on Japanese culture. All things considered they did a bang up job and making it accessible to a wider audience who didn't want to read subtitles and they should be proud of it. (Chiyo singing "cooking is so fun" was brilliant)
