Dunne-Cordoba should've won Fight of The Year 2009, not this. I am in no way denying the performance these two gave, true mexican warriors, definitely Fight of The Year MATERIAL no doubt, but Bernard Dunne vs Ricardo Cordoba I liked much better as far as entertainment value, show of heart and spirit, pretty much everything. Dunne-Cordoba should've won Fight of The Year 2009, not this. I am in no way denying the performance these two gave, true mexican warriors, definitely Fight of The Year MATERIAL no doubt, but Bernard Dunne vs Ricardo Cordoba I liked much better as far as entertainment value, show of heart and spirit, pretty much everything. I am not denying this fight is absolutely amazing, but Dunne-Cordoba was robbed for Fight of The Year which it should've won.

He retired to pursue a career in law, and eventually politics.
Glad to see him get out when he did.
He had ascended to the top of the Lightweight Division, and was beaten by Marquez.
But you gotta look at the positives in Diaz' case. He got out young, with his health, and lots of money after making lots of noise in the sport for a few years. Very few fighters are nearly as fortunate, so despite having a bunch of lossees at the end, this is a happy ending.

Tienes mucha razón nepats003. Acabas de ver al maestro del uppercut. De hecho el Pacman le copeó éste hermoso golpe a Juan Manuel Márquez, que por cierto en la última pelea contra el Pacman, casi lo tumba JMM en el 2do. round, pero el filipino se repuso pronto porque le quedaban pocos segundos para concluir ése round. Sin duda un fuera de série el maestro dinamita Juan Manuel Márquez. Saludos.
