  • turbofuus if Russians dont need brdges why have they devloped AVLB, floating bridges, pntoons etc, mmm could it be that heavy tanks do noto float, if BTR or PT76 both very long in toth and one is not used were to try it in europe thye would be sunk.

  • GAY!!! By that time the bridge is filled with holes and artillery fire as well as the chassis carrying it. Wouldn't it be better to bring a Tank that could move through water and swamps, ect?? Like the T-72, Leopard 2 and T-90,ect... Abrams can't... It would be better if they modify the abrams to go through water.

  • @zerocker45 These are usually used to cross ravines and narrow canyons.

  • @zerocker45 How fast can YOU lay a bridge?

  • @TurboFuss1 Russians don't need bridges. They are amphibious. They can travel miles and miles of river and ocean.... If you know about the NVA victory in the Battle of Lang Vei you should know the advantage of amphibious vehicles. The PT-76 and BTRs totally defeated the American established in there including Green Berets.

  • US version was put on a M60 chasis, needed only a crew of 2, and could lauch a good bit faster than this one.

  • that is fuckin' awesome! i didn't even know that we had tanks like these.

  • lays own bridge, crosses gimpy little ditch, picks it back up, keeps going. Lazy ass's dream vehicle

  • awesome.

  • any ex tankies out there this is dave windle took these to the gulf in 91 with 9 troop 77 aes 32 armoured

  • @fuckliao you wouldnt like a atomic test then, would you

  • 13 weeks training during the summer of 1997 at Bovington. All 5 of us were still drunk every morning, we put the most soba man in to drive first. The nights in Wheymouth and Poole were brilliant. All 5 of us had a single bunk, we would have to get rid of the girls in the morning. We always broke down, we had a fire and we filled up with water by moving too fast in the water. Driving the AVRE in the closed down position at night was a good laugh. Only the engineers could put me on tanks at 6'7".

  • continued..... on this vehicle and there was no mention of US involvement in the design of the AVLB...wishful thinking on Lockheeds part methinks.

  • The hydraulics and rams for the Bridgelayer were designed by APPH Ltd in the UK(I work for these people now). The tank itself was the base design of the Chieftain MBT designed in the UK and was deployed in the early 70's to the Engineer Armoured Squadrons during the 1970's. I don't really know where the US involvement was in the design of this vehicle. I went through Driver to Vehicle Mechanic Instructor...

  • Executive for APPH Ltd here. That was classified information. You have violated your non-disclosure agreement. We will contact you tomorrow to discuss disciplinary action.

  • Yeah right

  • ... You're not helping yourself here.

I suggest you remove this confidential information. It may help you in your case for not being terminated.

    See you tomorrow.

  • Are you some sort of prat? the AVLB is now obsolete and most of the information is in public domain so shove your head up your arse dickhead!

  • Haha, get mad about it, why don't ya?

Jesus, grow up buddy. No wonder you don't have any friends.

  • The launch on a scissor bridge took around 3 minutes. So this crappy advert is way out of date(Ex Bridge-layer Commander 1980's)

  • that first Russian made, then, USA copy...

  • Us made the phone, light bulb, electricity, etc, and we didn't mind you copying that

  • Nokia best mobilephone is from Norway :)

  • US made electricity? Nikola Tesla was a serbian born in croatia you dumb piece of shit.

  • he wasn't harnessing it for househeld use though! weird guns and machines that tried to teleport you more like it. And I'm from Croatia you over-reacting-kid who did a report on Nikolai and is now an "expert".

  • his name is not NIKOLAI, if u were from croatia u would know that, unless ur completely retarded as i originaly thought u were.

btw i'm from croatia and i never did a report on Nikola Tesla. some things are just common knowledge ( or at least i thought they were...)

  • Where in Croatia are you from

  • completely irrelevant...originally slavonia, but i live in zagreb now

  • Oh I'm from Vis, just wondering

  • @TheFalloutFanBoy also, Edison did not invent the incandescent light or the telephone either.......he simply improved on someone elses designs.

Oh and for the record, electricity occurs naturally, so no-one invented it.

  • As far as electricity, I meant "harnessed" not invented.

  • Bollox, it was designed by Vickers get your facts right.

  • Wow o.o nice

  • Incredible.
