Here in Seattle the tune of this song was lifted for Ivar's "Surrounded by Acres of Clams" advertising way back in the day- so when I heard this song I instantly connected with it.

When I looked up the wikipedia article for it, I was entranced. I'm surprised it hasn't been made into a movie yet. This is a truly legendary story!

Yes, there were 2 movies made about Ned Kelly one in the last couple of years starring Heath Ledger and one starring Mick Jagger back in the 1970s.The earlier one had some really great music. Ned Kelly is sort of Australia's Jesse James so there are lots of great song about him. Best Wishes. Sean

Cool tune, I like Australia....My song "Goin Back to New Orleans" made top ten Indie on ILR there last year. There was another great story from there portrayed in a movie, I believe called "Ned Kelly"
