  • beautiful. Nice bloom too.

  • Is it cycles?

  • Cool, what's the resolution?

  • i hate tests on youtube -.-

  • crap, you did this in 2007? my pc is way to old.

  • holy hell!!! AMAZING

  • How beautiful, it's just like Chuck Norris' sink.

  • @RLYBro NOPE! :D

  • If I were to render this on my old PC it would take about as long as the construction of the great wall of china.

  • Wooooah D:! AWEESOME!!

  • How did you make it transparent???

  • @RLYBro yeah but why :S?

  • in the future cheap cellphones will be able to render this instantly

  • Tutorial please!

  • make the aquarium edges and its perfect ! great job

  • Thats Great ;)

  • It's your lighting that seals the effect, nice work here.

  • ok thats just cheating, we all know that you just filmed an object dropping into a tub of water :)

  • Yeah, I'm officially thirsty.....

  • is it in 3d?

  • @thechildrenzplace Lol yes of course... it's not actually so realistic, only the rendering makes it very good :) the fluid resolution looks just good

  • and people wonder why this isnt in videogames. ;P

  • @legolasisahobbo impossible to render in real-time maybe? this kind of particle calculation in real-time requires much much more than a PS3 or an XBOX a PC could do it but it would probably cost a lot

  • nice

  • Tutorial please

  • beast

  • Tutorial

  • Dude, how long does this take to render??

  • @officialWB i can answer for him.

depending on how well your water should be and how much there is and finally how good a computer you may have, then it can take from 30 minutes to 4 days or much longer (:

my guess on he's rendering time could be 2-4 hours maybe more

  • how long did that take to render?

  • 0:02

  • Wow...

  • @theotherscientist stop watching crappy test renders.

  • very nice, how do you make this?

  • how'd you do the HDR?

  • So realistic ;]

  • "Okey very well mister pancho" (Mexican estereotype for Hello), Muy buen trabajo espero porder llegar a crear un trabajo asi con blender.

  • looks real

  • Blender is free and high-end, meaning if you know what your doing you could make a game that almost rivals Halo 3 and yes im serious

  • Very very nice!

  • ooh shiny

  • it's very goood

  • how to make the domain transparent? please help.

  • je sais pas troup c non je t'aide dsl (sorry)

  • you don't have to, once you bake the simulation the domain will become the real fluid that you will see rendering. You may be referring to the original object set as a "fluid", that you'll have to move to another layer to make it invisible. select it, use the M key and then select another layer which isn't the one where the camera is.

  • you dont have to, the domain becomes the fluid in the simulation. y u want the domain transparent?

  • what resolution did you use?

  • shader on the max

  • beautiful!

  • Perfect!

  • That was great

  • exelente

  • >>>my favourite part is when the water drop hits the water

  • wow... u did a good job with the lighting. :)

  • That looks really good.

  • cool, what texture did you use?

  • It does look nice but only a noob could enjoy this fully lol

  • lol maybe 50 res, you should see 250 this is crap not even how water moves. Render time was probably crap also.

  • i just posted one with 260 res... it looks pretty good and it's my second water fluid sim.

  • work of maybe 5minutes + render time xD

Blender newbs always think this is awesome

  • Yeah I know. These kinds of videos are usually just uploaded as tests.

  • that was intense

  • god damn, that is the best fluid what ever i seen!!

  • There are some other good fluids. I like a lot of milk and orange juice. And gasoline. But not all in the same place for the same reason. But truthfully, this was an excellent render.

  • baba esta buena pero no tanto

  • that is AWESOME (i said awesome like Shawty in Scary Movie 1)(thought you might like to know)

  • bloom is no good yafray caustic is the best way to go render with yafray or sum blendigo

  • hey how is that u post ur videos on u tube with such hi quality sumone get back to me thanks

  • it bump up the resolution...

  • it is so nice because he used bloom

  • Very nice. I've got one question though, and that is how do you make the "square" box of water?

  • he put it in a box XD

  • the invisible box the water is in is called the domain, and controls the fluid simulation. You should look up "fluid for beginners" tutorials, there is explained how domaining works.

  • Man I'm thirsty now. Love the shiny blue on blue.

  • Whoa, sick render quality =P

Only problem is the physics of the fluid itself, it seems to sustain motion too much, the energy is not dissipating (the water seems elastic?). Otherwise, great job, keep it up. =D

  • sounds like some viscosity problem

  • Very nice materials

  • Must of took hours to render.

  • Could you make a tutorial with this example?

  • how did you make the water clear?

    i can't do it

    i tryed but

  • go into colours pane and slecet transparency and just mess around with the different settings... you'll soon get pretty nice results.

  • activate ray mirror set the Ray Mir value to 0.1 and increase the Depth to 7. Then activate Ray Transp set the IOR to 1.3 (this is the correct physical value for normal water) and set the Alpha slider to 0.

  • ok i got blender but how do i get it to do this?

  • alot of work. ive done it and rendering takes aprox seventy(70)Hours

  • im thinking your computer is kinda slow? bc 70 hours is a long ass time

  • SLOW! are you kidding. is got a 3.5 ghz processor and 4 GB of ram....anyways no. 70 H isn't long for an animation at this high of quality. when pixar renders their movies it takes YEARS!!!

  • wow i got a 2.4 quad core and 2 gb of ram and i bet i could render it in under 10 hours

  • nope. physically impossible with those specs. did you hear me "when pixar renders their movies it takes YEARS!!!" and i have seen about 5 videos on here that all say that rendering took 70 hours or so. i don't want to fight about it. its just facts. :)

  • That's crap... I have 1.5 gigs of ram and I can render high def animations in hours. Anyway pixar doesn't take years.... you have no idea what you're talking about do you? They have what's called a Render Farm, hundreds of super computers hooked up to thousands of servers. Renders don't take that long....

  • no i actually do know what i am talking about. and yes i know what render farms are. and yes it does take years my friends dad works for pixar and he said so. i didn't believe it but he wasn't joking. so you tell me why so many videos on here say it takes so long. and also have you made a very high def animation? like "350" resolution"

  • 1080i res... dude it doesn't take years to make pixar movies... you are probably some lame ass 13 year old kid making up shit about renders. Believe me... I've been in the 3d industry for years now..

  • if your gonna dis me like this i don't want to discuss this. i know i am correct but w/e

  • 1080i is lines of video resolution. Before continuing, learn the subject. This is blender. Rendering involves raycasting pixels into polygons, and baking takes a long time too.

  • that was a reply...

  • It took years back in the early 90s when they were running their computers on Pentium IIs running at 450MHz. It takes significantly less time to render scenes now than it was back then.

  • Watching this made me thirsty. Very nice work!

  • Is that seriously from blender?!

  • Wow that is nice

  • isnt blender free?

  • yes

  • Wow, could you tell me how to get the liquid to act like water mine just does not look real...

  • HIGH RES

  • from experience I know all fluid dynamics takes eons to process, so .. how long did it take for that simulation to compile?

  • wow i'm impressed, the water is really well done. can you mail me the blend file if you still have it ? thanks so much

  • hey thats very good

can you mail me how to do that in blender?

    thx =)

  • best liquid physics i've seen.

  • I know i've always wanted to do this fluid thing. TUTORIAL PLZ!!!

  • A basic simulation turial 4 u start blender put on wireframe mode press shift + D size the extra cube down press f7 twice click on the smaller cube (dont move it) click on enable fluid click fluid (leave everything the way it is) click on larger cube click enable and then domain (leave everything) click bake wait... when its done, remove exess cube and right click on the liquid. drop out of wireframe mode. go to edit mode and smooth it. then enjoy!
  • i meant tutorial lol

  • this is exactly why they have blender. to show how real 3d can get. now im thirsty lol

  • really good job dude

  • how did u make the preset water plz make tutorial and tell me

  • iam thirsty

  • did you use bloom for the water?

    its a VERY nice material

  • Thats amazing, but how do you get the block of water under neath, all i can get is an invisible cube with fluid hitting the bottom.

  • That's just awsome!... but how did you get the water so sparkly?

  • that looks so real and do you need like a top of the line super pc to make this look and perform so good

  • thats cool!!!

  • WOW :O i want to do that :D

  • Nice Color!

  • What was the material and what kind of lamp did you use to make the water sparkle?

  • That is so pimp...

  • Rofl it looks so real.. i would totally drink it

  • It looks like water-jello

  • Pretty cool! Time to dive into Blender now and see what kind of magic there is to explore. Just got Blender installed and running fine. Those fluid effects are really impressive compared to what you get from most "commercial" software packages. Like Glue3D, RealFlow, alas other particle systems :)

    Kewl indeed.

  • And FREE too!! Think of how much money they could charge for such awsome software!

  • Yeah. Maybe this is why people are so motivated to update Blender with all kind of neat feat. that are simply not easy to get for free. Years of reseatch but still the "math" is for free. So why wouldn't the rest be for free... Ahh I stop ;)

  • pretty cool :)

  • Great, now I'm thirsty...

  • now that's some serious animation

  • The fluid isn't running at a real-time speed, but the material and lighting is fantastic. Nicely done.

  • i think its better that it renders out slow IMO. it would seem to have better results if you used some software to speed it up rather than slowing down a faster movie render.

  • What the fuck. This water is so much real.

  • Oh wow!

  • nice

  • Sorry for my english :P

  • It is awsome.. Don't forget people that YouTube makes the movie worse quality..and I just can't imagine how does it look like on your computer man ...:) Greetings from Poland :D

  • in blender i can do fluids n stuff but how do you get just a tank of water

  • Awesome man

  • BLender eh?? My goodness this thing has come such a long way from not even having an undo. I really need learn this program now. Off to tuts

  • Ctrl Z

... it takes a while to learn the hot keys but its very worthwhile.

  • I was referring to a time when undo wasn't trully functional. Some actions couldn't be undone. I can't remember what version, but it was a long time ago. I think when it was first open sourced.

  • Please elaborate on how the hell you did this. Ok, so I can make water in Blender too. But how did you do lighting and materials?

  • Nice work. Amazing!

  • 5 on 5... I've got a mission to make. Same anim in 3D Studio... Damn, it's gonna be hard!

I wonder how was it made with this first part, when the drop hits the water... It isn't grapping it, linking unnaturally, as it does whith most of ways of creating 3D water I've seen so far... Hell, it's hard to explain what I'm tryin to explain. Eh, noone listens anyway.

All in all, Looks incedibly realistic.

    Cheers.

  • there are actual 3D particls place together to form water or smoke or whatever that act like real particls with the laws of physics applyed tothem

  • someone listened!

  • I didn't think that Max did fluids ?

    Its very easy in Blender.

  • please make a tutorial please i know how to use blender but not water pleaaaaaaase

  • Really really great looking. Best I've seen.

  • Very nice. But there is some aa problem with the raytracing I think.

  • That's astounding mate.

  • very nice...... nice water shader ... care to share some settings?

  • how the FUCK did you make that its awesome

  • Can you give me the settings to the materials you used?

  • That is very good, congratulations.

  • Beautiful splash. It's seldom to find one that's realistic.

  • How much RAM you got?

  • 512 mb.

  • wow are you serious?

Rendering usually takes up a shitload of ram O_o

  • wow - bravo on half a gig.

  • Wow! I've got a gig, and still can't do the uber-high end stuff.

  • ram isnt that much important its the spped of your graphic card core clock that is.

  • however it is the processor that calculates the obj.gz models made for the physic calculations methinks

  • Thats sick dude, what texture settings did you use?

  • I think u use both RayMirror and RayTrans with fresnel RIGHT?

  • You got the settings perfect! That's the most realistic water I've seen in blender yet.

Mind PMing me the settings? :3

  • you nailed the color and transparency of the water

  • That has to be some of the nicest water material I have seen... guessing you threw in a glow effect on the scene too. Should share the material at a repository site or something.

  • Yafray?

  • Nope. Blender internal.

  • AWESOME!!!!

did u figure it out ur self, or follow a tutorial?
