They didn't have 2 guesses. They knew how it was done, but it could be done in 2 different ways depending if the cards were different or not. They only wanted to confirm they were different, or else they would have only been fooled by the fact he did a worse trick than they thought. Fortunately, they were different, as assumed, so it was a better trick, but still didn't fool them. The point Penn was making, was that he under performed the trick.

the guy drawing the control image is actually part of the act. From where he is sitting he can see the reflection in the barrier of which cards Penn and Teller chooses. He then signals the magician, who is looking straight at him. The magician passes the signal on to the other guy Teller puck who is also part of the act. Penn and Teller knew about the first guy but not the other guy drawing the control image.

Penn & Teller di'dn't like it , me neither. I don't like that guy writing on the paper in the corner of the audience. I don't like the fake Hypnose either, Frank moves straight after.... I'm not here to hate.... I know it's your channel.... But this performence was extremely weak. @docandthedoctor actually Penn said they loved him. He had a quirky style and I thought the act was a bit of a mess, but it was a total mystery to me, and he had them good with the different pictures.

this hole thing is sketchy... wtf really happened between 3:10 and 3:14... the guy stand up while Penn is dancing. Then they are both sitting with a deception face. And Then the firt thing the "Magicien" says is : "how you feeling Frank"

And nobody noticed that before...

All the comments are like : WOW this is Amazing...

This is the only trick so far i don't like that occured in that show !

There is an obviously reason with what is wrong with this trick. The ONLY possible way is if the guy was a stooge and hence Penn & Teller were in on it all along. "Once you remove the impossible, whatever remains, however improbably, MUST be the truth!"

There have been a few magicians, some that have been on TV etc not doing a true magic trick but one that is to misdirect Penn and Teller specifically to fool them. Misdirecting them magician to magician to fool them.

Why this show series wont last because more and more will tailor tricks to misdirect a magician and not be a true trick. Making their guess wrong. Penn & teller got more wise during the series though.

Clever, still great tricks but kind of dishonest as well.

In past episode they have been allowed to examine the props, but perhaps that's only with freely given permission? The rules are not very clear, as explained to the home audience.

I think in the true spirit of the competition, the looking at cards should be counted as a guess, since that's where their suspicion lies.

James, I think it wasnt aired because they blatently broke all rules, not because of time restrictions. Time can be edited down easily. The fact that they broke the rules cant be. One guess....no, two! examining the props before guessing...hmmmm. Dont think they are the rules are they?
