  • Meine Nepenthes truncata hat vor 2 Monaten während der Hitze zwei fette Hornissen gefangen. Und unzählige große Ameisen. Ich persönlich finde, N. truncata ist mit Abstand die einfachste Art.

My Nepenthes truncata caught two fat hornets two months ago whilst the great summer heat. And it caught lots of large ants, too. I personally think N. truncata is most easy to grow.

  • ma hört das pfui daibel gut

  • These N. truncata, as well as many other Nepenthes, are very capable of digesting large prey. I'm surprised the smell was so bad, it was probably due to the high temps in the greenhouse. Mine never smelled bad at all and it was in my basement. It not only ate the mouse but its bones and teeth were dissolved completely. That was a N. spathulata in my video that ate the mouse. It then grew massively for over a year without having to eat again. Did you leave the third mouse for the plant?

  • pardon my ignorance, but what are those tiny little amphibians swimming in the pond?

  • and i dont mean the frogs. well, it probably is a reptile. the ones with tails?

  • @MrNetgear1225 there newts a british/europian variaty i believe called red bells

  • @MrNetgear1225 i think they're called newts :)

  • @UmagaAteTripleH Yes, correctly spoken "Alpine Newt" (Ichtyosaura alpestris).

  • do roridula dentatas actually eat or absorb the bugs fluids or do they just catch em?

  • Yes, it has been documented with radioactive marked fruitflies fed to the bugs. The radioctive nutrients from their droppings became absorbed through the stomata and were later detected in the plant tissue.

  • Well that's one way to get rid of a mouse infestation lol. Makes me almost wish my house wasn't so new. lol Maybe in the future my Neps will have a nice furry snack themselves
