@Entropy56 Well....Did you not read above where he states it's an SD card issue? This was a well documented problem, easily resolved by using the proper card.
If you are thinking about buying this camera, do not buy it. There is a common 'sticky blades' problem that many x100 will eventually get due to the design of the lens in the x100. So far to date, Fujifilm has not even publicly acknowledged this problem. Shocking for a $1000+ premium camera. You can read about all the x100 owners complaining about it on the Fujifilm Talk forum on DPreview. Until Fujifilm acknowledges this issue, stay away from the x100!!
Do you see any of the performance parameters being updated via firmware? The performance I've heard on this camera is...meh...and that's th only thing keeping me away from this camera.
Many many thanks for this video. I just bought this camera a week ago and am getting used to its 'isms, but you have some really great tips in here. I am blown away by the camera quality. The sharpness is stellar, but the way it captures light and shadows is just mind blowing!! I am not really any good with post processing and the way this camera makes the pictures pop is perfect.
thank's for the effort, i am rather lazy guy, always reluctant to read the manual, so your video comes in handy. Have the x100 for a couple of days now, great IQ, not so great handling, keeping it.
There seems to be so many menu settings for a novice. How well does this camera work as an "automatic" point & shoot? I currently have a Canon PowerShot S80 (8 Megapixels; prosumer)???
jesus christ? 2.2 seconds startup? on this video you hit power at 3:15 and it was operational at 3:28. is this for real? 13 seconds? mine is arriving in 2 days and this is making me scared
@stevehuff1969 good to know thanks steve. after I posted the comment I researched on forums and saw people were talking about sd cards. they also mentioned that formatting the card in-camera would help
The video mode on the x100 is a joke. Only 720p and only at 24fps? The Panasonic GF2 and Sony NEX-3/5 can do 1080p @ 30fps and they are both smaller and allow you to change lenses!
3:10 you said it takes 2.2 seconds for the X100 to start. Well, according your test, it took 13 seconds for it to take the first picture!

For the "focus and recompose" procedure, do you use the AF-S mode?
Btw, my gratitude for making this vid.
