I have been asked how much a log home settles? The fact is that green pine "shrinks" and dry pine is "preshrunk." I use logs with moisture levels at 14% to 15%, which is considered dry.

If you use green logs, a builder would have to leave 1/2 inch per one foot of log wall. Classes at the Montana School of Log Buidling are 650.00 per week and a log building partner recieves a 50% discount.
