Cold shouldn't bother this metal housing model, I think a plastic body model like this one might be more at risk in cold though
They are not fragile really, but obviouly they shouldn't be dropped or anything.. I carry my external drives around and have never had any major trouble
I thought the same way as you. It'll be awhile before I ever need a terabyte of storage. 3 months ago I bought one because my 250gb wouldn't cut it. I can't believe how quite it runs. Now I just need a decent cam to make videos for YouTube now. lol
