I'am in the process of going to trial with Ford Canada in B.C and would appreciate feedback from anybody has experianced this spark plug blow out problem.
@supermotofreak14 easier to get from ebay then to find it in Canada. Wurth is the distributor in Canada but good luck finding a way to buy from them. Timesert site says Fastenal has them but that is not true in western Canada. great products, wish I could get them more reliably :)
Is this kit p/n 5553? This is different than your other video.?v=Ntiy8L97Nco. What type of head was in that one, it looked similar. I ordered 5553 today, comes in 48 hours so I have my weekend project.
These videos are going to be very helpful. Thanks for the cutaway views.
pumbaajk, abc auto huh? must be in texas, here in gainesville fla. we have napa, carquest, autozone, advance discount auto parts, but no abc!! but thanks for the info. ill have to get a kit soon!!
you make this look so easy. you should try this on the side of the road, in the texas heat, and frustrated that the spark plug just put a huge dent in the hood of your truck. not as simple as this 4 min video.
3 of them yes. my truck is broke down right now also. it runs great when its cold but when it reaches operating temp, it immediately starts missing. i took it to a ford mechanic and he cleared the computer and it ran great for about a week, then it started missing again. i am narrowing it down to the computer due to the fact we cant isolate the cylinder in which the problem keeps occuring.
ah man brotha, im in the same boat and i loved my truck at first, did you have the inserts done at the dealer or did you do them yourself? could you tell me the name of the spark plug insert kit used?
randycorona55, is it still working, it still might blow out the remaining sparkplugs anyways, everyone tells me to give up my so called dream truck as soon as possible!!!
Are there more threads on the insert than the oem 97-02 ford cylinder head, to help eliminate spark plug spitting out? What are inserts made of, steel or aluminum?
Does timesert carry a fix for broken brake bleeder screws?

just buy the heli-coil tool.....if it comes out the next time you replace the plugs....insert new insert and install new plug.

@cartmankk2
We have never had any luck with Jb weld.

The job pays 2 hours in our shop, I can do this on the motor in 45 minutes.
Yes friends 2 flag hours in .75 and it's the cheapest fix in the city.
RCWorks 2 years ago
I was thinking the same thing. Probably yes because the metal shavings would fall into the cylinder if you didnt.

No, you do not have to remove the head.
TimeSert 2 years ago
