  • L2P!

  • This sounds like taking a shit in outter space

  • @ProduktR lol

  • Nice performance!

But what kind of cables do you use? ( I can't see ("_"))

  • @MrTastyLooking thanks, these are really short rca to rca cable, about 2 or 3 inches (iirc they were meant to plug in the rca inserts sends and return on my tascam 244 after i loss the metal bracket it used to jump them

  • Nice playing!

  • @unfeared11 thanks

  • @jfootballfreak06 care to expand? i suck dicks? candys? at life? learn some words instead of just sayint to everyone they suck

  • @muzik4machines He's probably jealous and wants to suck as much as you.

  • @muzik4machines

    you suck candy.

    :D

    my new favorite insult

  • @jfootballfreak06

And you sir, are a toss pot!!

  • I think you may need a 4th try

  • @furiousflop i don't think so, you should look at the dates buddy

  • The advantage of these machines is you can smuggle them into China and they think it's some kind of Nintendo GameBoys, and then you can hold an illegal rave for five million people at a time. LOL.

  • @Dracopol why smuggle them, they are already built there

  • @muzik4machines Curses! Foiled again by a simple flaw in my plan! lol.

  • @Dracopol lulz

  • whats the diffrence beetween the two?

would it be a good idea to buy this or do you need to be musically skilled in some way?

  • yellow is a synth, red is a multi FX

i did a show (channel eurekazik here on youtube) where people were just playing on the 2 minis (with a scale pre set) and it gave some very good results (some pretty bad too, but not skilled and "6 years old" are different, if you have any sense of music being a listener, im sure you could manage to do great things on them without any musical (theorical) knowledge

  • thanks man, i bare want one nnow!!!

  • The yellow one (kaossilator) is for creating and looping music ... the red one (mini kp) doesn't make music puts effects on a musical source thats connected to it and you don't have to be to musically talented, but you have to be able to count beats and that simple stuff.

  • Incredible performance... really beautiful!!

  • thank you very much :)

  • Love the composure, have fun aye?

    You're brilliant :]

  • thanks a lot :)

  • some great sounds out of there man.very well done.perhaps the best iv seen on u tube?

  • thanks a real whole lot :)

  • actually what i mean to say was looper but i looked up some mini pad tutorials and it does. how many loop programs does it have?

  • IIRC there is like 8 loopers, hi pass, low pass, bitcrusher, phaser, pitch shifted and a couple variation on the loop reverse (slow down/crossfade)

  • thanks! im so buying it now!

  • hey man nice stuff! im pretty new to this so dont mind the stupid question. but can the kaoss pad hold beats?

  • thanks

hold as in save for later use? no :(

  • dude, you should go pro or something. thats just crazy stuff man, nice work

  • thanks, i'd like to a lot, any contacts you can send this video to? :)

  • You RAWK Raddness! Yay for freestyle, so underrated. So happy right now thank you for this! FROM canada VI AN.

  • thanks a lot, you just made my day :)

  • i like you freestyle spirit! my only advise is Take advantage of you arpeggiator... it is your best friend in syncing percussion.

This is honestly the best sounding kaossilator demo i've heard in a while.. 5/5

  • thanks, i only had the k01 for less than a wek when i recorded this

the problem with the arp is for the snares on 2 and 4, you either freeze the kick record 4/4 snares and delete the 1 and 3 or you do it by hand(i do the 4 and delete now, more than a year after, check musicformachines learning back the kaossilaror(cannot post link), i became way better :)

  • what are these pluged into? and is the mini kp doing the looping?

  • they are plugged in the laptop line in

the mini kp is mostly the effects IIRC, and the looping is handled by the kaossilator

  • awesome jam mate!!

  • thanks a lot mate :)

  • in response to gipsy76, the Kaossilator doesnt have as many features as the KP3 for example you cannot plug a mic into the Kaossilator and loop your own voice, and Beardyman is the Beatbox champion of 06-07

  • thanks for the info, the kaossilator is in fact a synth more than an effect, the mini KP is roughly a KP2 without samples slots with some kp3 effects thrown in

you cannot loop like a loopist with it really, the kp3, boss rc 50(the huge one), echoplex or ableton live are way more convenient

  • ive never used a kaoss pad so sorry if i sound noob. but can you do with this thing like the kaoss pad 3 and beatbox into it and loop it like beardy man?

  • i don't understand your question, who i sthe bearded man?

the miniKP has no sampler like the KP3 has, just a live looper

  • conveyor belt "music"

  • which is better: mini k or kaossilator?

  • they are so different it's almost impossible to say 1 is better, the kaossilator is a synth with no audio in, the mini KP is a multi effect

  • what kind of speakers are you using? and do u kno what certain cables i need to plugin speakers? :S

  • depends, my studio monitors, or my bedroom speakers, or the living room speakers, it really epends where i play (more often than other, in my headphones)

as for the cable, it depends from what gear, and what inputs your speakers have

    are they powered?

if yes a simple something(1/4, rca, xlr) to the something on your speaker(1/4, rca, xlr) cable should do well

if they are not, you need to use an amplifier, cabling is the same rule, except between gear and amplifier input

  • that is awesome

  • thanks you :)

  • I love it! What key do you have the kaossilator in?

  • i really can't tell you, but since it was brand new i guess in c, probably minor or gypsy, but it was new and i had fun, i didnt notice

  • This is very nice music!! your genias!!!

  • thanks a lot

  • cool

  • thanks :)

  • 7:43 lol

    random anti climactic pause

  • joys of not knowing what i'm doing (it's 35 minutes after i got both together(time to walk home and record 2 previous clips)

i stumbled on one of the loopers, that needs to be waited for it to actually sample something, so the buffer was empty and i was going thru all fx messing with each, so when i switched to this one and touched the pad, oups! no buffer, a real beginner mistage(which is what i was that afternoon)

  • nonetheless, awesome tunes dude.

    keep it up

  • thanks :)

  • also this sounds amazing

  • thanks

  • if you make a beat on the kaossilator, can you save that beat in a memory space and go back to it later?

  • you can do what they call a FIX, which sends the playing loop to a separate "track" which is immune to all new recording/erasing you do on the main live track

this track will always play(i wish the v2 includes a mute for that track) so it's not like doing a beat and saving it for later in the session

this is volatile tho, so at power off everything is lost, the Kaoss pad 3, with a memory card, can save it's four loops bank for later use, but sync is a PITA with MIDI gear, so i don't really useit

  • wats the difference between kaossilatore and the mini?

  • the Mini kp is a multi fx and the kaossilator is a synthesizer

  • sweet well i can afford both so y not get em both :D

  • a thing i woud badly wanna know... can u switch back to all the layers of the loop section to change em???

  • unfortunately no, you can only DELETE the top layer (if you saved(fix) the backing one

  • woooooooooooww !!!!!!! extra !

  • thanks a lot :)

  • GJ!!

  • I'm assuming you know what a bass drop is? If you do that would be great if you could let me know if the kaossilator can do them. I tried one out and I'm pretty sure it can but I would like to hear it from someone who is skilled with it, ha. Thanks.

  • IIRC (i'm not close to the K01 ATM) one of the drums morphs into a drop(82 or something IIRC), i would have to check

  • does the mini kp also have a loop recorder?

  • kind of, 1 bar looper that shortens the loop to 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, etc with IIRC low pass, hi pass, flanger/phaser lo fi etc (IIRC there is lik e8 different fx applied to the loop, 1 of them crossfades with a reverse loop, and 2 of them pitch shifts it down to a stop and start backwards

but not a real looper that can keep a loop like the KP3 does

  • So which is better?

  • none is better, the k01 is a synth and the mini kp is a multi FX

  • Yeah I noticed that today so what should I get for a begginner, im thinking of the kaossilator. then Ill get the mini kp, or should I just save and get the kp3?

  • get the kaossilator, learn it while you get cash

then get either the mini KP(if youwant delay for the breaks/1bar loop) or the KP3, all the fx power of the mini with a 4 track sampler, so you are no limited to the one track with overdub of the K01, ie, you can record the drums then the bass then the pad and then MUTE those drums and bass for a nice clean break and then record a lead and punch the beat right in wuile you still can record new things on the K01 and so on

  • so you got it set out from the kaossilator into the kaosspad then out to your sound system?

  • exactly(the sound system being the laptop line in)

  • would you know if i could hook these two up to a roland mc505 and record?

  • probably not as the 505 can't record audio and the minis can't output midi

  • yeah i guessed so, thanks for the quick reaction though

  • Sick yo!

  • thanks :)

  • Welcome how much are these things?

  • the mini kp(red) is 139 canadian $ and the kaossilator(yellow) is 239$ (also canadian) (i paid way lessq last april when i got them)

  • Oh ok thnx

  • it's awsome like stevey wonder on acid laced x lax!!!

  • technology these days are unbelievable!

  • if you had 600 bucks what would you buy

  • a decent mixer

  • i meant for me, fir you i dont know, what do you own already?

  • WOuld you prefer the KP3 instead of the mini thou ;)

  • i have all kaoss ever made, the mini is good for going alone with the k01, like it's personal fx unit

the Kp3, in this setp, is more a loop sampler, but in my regular gig setup, i use the kp3 as a looper/grainshifter more than as a sampler

  • Thanks for the vid.

    and all your helpful replies.

  • the worst thing about the kaosalator

is that you cant save and theres only 8 bars

    it aynoying

  • Hold down the BPM button and Loop button while turning it on and it gives 16 beats

  • If you connect it to a computer and record with an audio program...you can save

  • shit man! tide as fuck.

  • :) thanks

  • holy hell that was amazing. you rock dude

  • thank you very much :)

  • Great Work ******

  • thanks

  • thanks :)

  • Can you make beats with the mini kaoss pad like you can with the kp3??.. Where you play a sound and sort of loop it.. Cause I don't know much about these but it'd be sweet to have for Christmas. Please reply.

  • actually, it's easier to make beats and music on the kaossilator as there is scales/root and arpegiator parameters to help

there is also more drum patterns in the K01(and more one-shot hits too)

the K01 is a perfect xmas gift for any electro lover

  • Ty ;] I asked for it for Xmas.

  • looks like lots of fun mixing these two kaoss, nice sounds there man (:

  • hey is there a diffrence between the 2? cause the kassilatior is a little bit more, but i dont know which to buy

  • the kaossilator(yellow) is a synth

the mini kaoss(red) is a multi effect unit

  • k then i guess im probally better off with the kassilator, thanks

  • Can i hook the kaosspad up straight to my guitar?

  • you COULD, but I WOULD NOT recommend going direct, use a direct box, a preamp or a stomp box (i suggest Boss LS2 line selector) as the Kaoss only have line inputs, which will cause an impedance mismatch with your guitar pickup, resulting in a darker, less sustain-y tone(really bad)

  • What if, you A) dont have that stuff, B) dont understand what it means :D

  • a) you plug the guitar in the mic input and realises it sounds like shit and start hating the KP3 or the guitar

    b) you google impedance mismatch :P

srsly, you certainely have at least 1 stomp box/multifx/something (avec the fx loop on your amp would do, it actually would be the best way to use it)

  • the guitar is high impendance (et thus: low current) which needs to be raised to high current through the directbox then run through the kaosspad to the amp?

  • if you have a DI it would be nice

    guitar into DI

DI out(with XLR to 1/4 cable) into mic input of the KP3

  • HELP is there a way to hook up piano or my ipod to the mini kaoss pad???

  • just get a stereo to 2 RCA cable to go from the iPod to the kaoss

  • I got a question.

Can i combine Kaossilator + Mini Kaoss Pad + Talkbox all three together at the same time?

  • yes, but you'll need a mic and PA system to play the talkbox, but i don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to pipe the K01 sound into a talkbox and "talk" it

  • Alright, thank you! :)

  • So let me get this straight.

The kaossilator is connected to the mini kp and then the line out on the kp is connected to a computer or speaker.

I just wanted to know if the koassilator sound is coming out of the mini kp

  • xactly

I use the mini to wash the whole k01loop on delay so I can stop it to fix or start tight with an arp

  • I have both the Kaossilator and the Mini KP-Pad, and I like both alot since I experiment with them both and get all kinds of crazy ass beats. I like mixing music together and getting all kinds of effects out of em. The only downfall that I'm complaining about here is that, once you make a beat with the Kaossilator and record it, once you make it, you can't save it. Like, you shut it off, put it back on and you lose what you made. u start from scratch. Wish you were able to save the beats u make.

  • that's why i got the mini KP, that way i can loop a bar on the mini while I fix on the K01, or use a big, feedbacky delay while I fix or stop to record another apr layer that starts tight

  • the KAOSSILATOR has scales, unfortunately, not the mini kaoss, not the big kaoss pads

  • kaossilator or mini kaoss?

    whats the difference?

  • kaossilator: synth

    mini KP: multi effect

  • so kaossilator would be better to get?

  • depends, if you want a synth yes, if you want to mash up sound from other sources like turntables, beatboxes, etc, the mini K is the one, they are 2 totally different beasts, check the korg website for details on which effects are in and which synth patches are in the kaossilator

  • alright thx sooo much

  • @muzik4machines

Hi, i am totally beginner in that stuff. First I saw on youtube the Alesis airsynth and that was really cool thing. Sadly the airsynth is outsold. Could I get with the Kaossilator similar sounds as with the airsynth? Like spherical sounds or like "Tangerine Dream"-Sounds?

Could you advise me some more similar synthesizer with that cool touchpad?

  • If I wanted to get one mainly for making beats? (Which i do) which one would you reccomend? Because I cant see a difference. Whats your preference?

    Thanks :)

  • kaossilator, as there is NO beat making avail in the mini KP, just effects

  • Kaossilator + mini-KP = #1!

  • Nice! breakcore-ish style.

  • thanks

  • does the mini kaoss pad have built in synth sounds as well?

  • there is like 7 or 8 synths(don't know for sure, i never use them because) but they have no scales, so it only makes a big chromatic blur with WAYYYY too much delay, so thay are kind of unusable to make any srt of melodic "music"

  • It has 31 (!) different scales. You can set both the scale and the key to match nearly any song, provided it's a song that doesn't change scales or keys. However, as you imply, it's hard to hit particular notes. A keyboard this ain't, but that's the point -- it's freeing you from having to hit particular notes. Nice job on the vids, by the way.

  • the kaossilator has scales, NOT the mini kp :)

  • Hello!

Do you recommend the mini KP into guitar?

  • Sorry damn idiot question :D , these kaosspads don't have MIDI, I'll need k2 kaosspad

  • no, the mini's have no midi nor USB, i'd suggest the KP3 if you can afford it (and like tempo sync'ed effects, as the kp2 only have like 12 tempo FX, when the KP3 have like, no free running FX, only tempo sync'ed ones)

  • But isn't the kp3 a little bit too big for a guitar?

  • you mean built inside, sorry

the miniKP then with some sort of DI

the muse guitarist have a kp2 pad on his les paul, but not the whole thing inside, he just used a replacement pad and it's on(not inside) the guitar.

you would need to carve a big hole and remove all casing to fit a kp2 or kp3 in there i guess

    sorry for the mis-communication

  • I have 2 say, between all 3 tries that I have seen, I was very impressed with the 1st try. that was amazing. I didn't like the 2nd try, that was very poor, I left you a sad comment, but this one was alright. The 3rd try, You were off on some beats a lil, but you kept up and made it possible through the rest of the song & I give you props. it was alright. I liked parts of it & I hope you make better ones. One was crazy good and this one, if you were on beat more, I'd be dancing up a storm by now.

  • i mastered it since, remember it was 2 days since i had the kaossilator and about 35 minutes i had the mini KP ;)

  • excellent!

  • thank you

  • 1 of my favorites! korg-o-mania

  • thanks

  • Very nice mang. Keep it awesome.

  • thanks a lot :)
