  • Try and play assaaains creed with this song. Its funny

  • This song sounds like, well, in one part "When the Saints go Marching in". Right? The "oh I want to be in that number" part.

  • I love John Candy films. Classic 80's feel good comedy.

I was sad when he died...he was just reaching his peak. He could/should have made many more great films.

    Thanks for uploading this.

  • It's not available on iTunes :(

  • Candy great talent and to all accounts a very good man - sadly missed!!

  • @sunshineuk1965 Of course he was. He was Canadian wasn't he?

  • This tune almost cures cancer. Almost. I need to get a fucking car to the good old USA right fuckin' now...

  • 4 people want a rental car

  • I miss John Candy alot, it sucks having legends pass away and copycats ruining the original king of comedies.

  • @moh1612 I would really like the soundtrack to this if you have it. I wrote you quite a long winded letter but was blocked from sending it because we're not friends. Let me know if you can help. I'm sending you a friend request by the way just so you know, I'm not some band looking for exposure or anything.

  • Prisoner36

  • @silyanina Youtube -

They Sold Their Souls For Music

  • HOW CAN YOU NOT SMILE LISTENING TO THIS

  • Zach galifianakis will never come close to matching John Candy...RIP

  • Everytime I hear this clip, I remember the scene where Neil and Del are driving away from the airport, with Neil talking in chipmunk form after locking steel with that pissed-off cabbie.

Del: "Do you have any idea how glad I am I didn't kill you?!"

Neil: "Do you have any idea how glad I'd be if you had?"

    Brilliant!

  • @cincstarfleet LOL! Me Too! :-)

  • Send it to me too, please? I can't find this anywhere!

    RDC

  • @cann513 I have the soundtrack to this, i can send you it if u like

  • Neil: "The airline said I have a good chance of getting on stand-by."

Del: "And if they told you wolverines make good house pets, would you have believed them?"

  • Hughes was a master at using music in film. So many great tunes are synonymous with classic scenes, -"you're messin' with the wrong guy"

  • hello , please can you email me the mp3 of this please ? mail is Malcolm47175@aol.com thanks :)

  • Yeah!!!!!!!!!! I love this song in the movie! The timing is perfect every time! Best movie ever..

  • After listening to different versions of this melody on yt it would seem that Silicon Teens didn't make this version one.

But it is good and thats the important thing but the right ones should be credited.

  • I've never seen a guy get picked up by his testicles before.. Lucky thing for you that cop passed by when he did, otherwise you'd be lifting up your schnutz to tie your shoes! Do you have any idea how glad I am I didn't kill you?

Do you have any idea how glad I'd be if you had?

  • @gullwing14 yes!!! I always think of that line when I hear this haha that and when del backs the car into the hotel room and they book outta there lmao great movie, definetly one of my top 3 faves

  • opps i meant steve martin lol

  • Does anyone know the name of the instrumental song at the end of the movie, when Steve Harvey and John Candy goes there seperate ways at the train station??

  • @antasexy The Dream Acadamy- Power to believe

  • My traditional Thanksgiving movie!!! Happy Thanksgiving!!!

  • What an absolute tuuuuuune!

  • "You're going the wrong way!"

"How do they know where we're going?"

    "They must be drunk."

  • This tune is hillarious :)

  • I've been looking for this song. Thank You

  • Greatest movie ever made, catchiest tune I've ever heard

  • How is this a soundtrack - Its just one song

  • where can I fond the music from the scene where john candy is alone in the snow talking to his wife while steve marrtin is in the hotel room, that was always my favorite part of the score.

  • @woollybully100 I think it was just a slower, instrumental version of " Modigliani" by Book of Love, with no lyrics of course.

  • @jaimehatespapi thats probably true but does anyone know atleast the name of the track?

  • @jaimehatespapi nope this is it.

  • @mrdjjames This is the song that played when Del and Neal get the convertible from the St Louis Airport. Woollybully was refering to the scene right after the car started on fire and they go to the motel. Neal was able to rent a room with $17 and "a hell of a nice watch" while Del only had $2 and a Casio-so he didn't get a room. So it shows Del sitting in the burned out car talking to his wife. A slow version of Modigliani plays.

  • @woollybully100

That song is called 'Modigliani' by Book Of Love.

  • This song is so catchy! lol

  • Best soundtrack of 80's films and John Hughes best film.

God Bless you both John Hughes and John Candy.

    Live on Steve Martin.

  • @SJ363 Hey dude do you mind doing the same for me? Thank you for your time!

  • @comgeek24 I have the soundtrack to this, i can send you it if u like

  • I think we all have a Del Griffin in our life LOL. My Friend Dennis is just like him and

I feel like I'm Neil Page lol.

  • I love the scene where they are going the highway in that beat up car LOL! and they pass those people the expression on there faces!

  • "I've never seen a guy get picked up by his testicles, before... Lucky for you that cop passed by when you did other-wise you'd be lifting up your schnuts to tie your shoes. (**John Candy laughs.**.). I'm sorry. That's terrible. You have any idea how glad I am I didn't kill you?".

"You know how glad I'd be if you had?...".

  • "You have any idea how glad I am I didn't kill you?"

"You have any idea how glad I'd be if you had?"

"Awww, come on, pal, you don't mean that. Remember what I said about going with the flow?"

"How am I suppose to go with the flow when the rental car agency leaves me at a hundred acre parking lot with keys to a car that isn't there and I have hike three miles back to find out they don't have anymore cars?!"

  • I wish this song & this type of music from the 1980's was still around.

I was born in 1989 & when I first saw this movie at a young age & heard this song in the movie, I fell in love with both the movie & the song & hear I am, now still feeling that same sense of nostalgia & facing the fact of "Music like this is what we'll never, ever see from the next generation of music. Instead, we've got Hannah Montana, Justin Biber, The Jonas Brothers, The Jonas Brothers & The Jonas Brothers, sadly.".

  • @tthomaselli2 HA its funny cuz its TRUE

  • rip john and john great work between them both amazing guys great films :)

  • Steve Martin and John Candy both give some of the most real performances I've ever seen on film. This is still one of my favorite movies to date. Great holiday movie, and a great comedy

  • this song popped in my head and i typed in "planes trains and automobiles soundtrack" and first video is this song...

  • Just too awesome! =)

  • Holy cow I've searched for this song for years! Always thought it was just some medley created specifically for the movie so I thought I'd never find it. :D

  • I've had this soundtrack on cassette for years. It's excellent for listening to while cruising in your automobile.

  • Anyone know where i can download this song from?

  • Cool music from a cool movie!

  • @18vti "Marie's been dead for 8 years...." that look on JC's face when SM returns to the subway station.....25 years on it STILL gets me choked...!

  • "Train don't run out of witchataw, lessn' your a cattle or hog, people train runs out of S-Stubville"

  • sounds cheesy but it really catchy

  • "You're the showercurtain-fella?" Great movie, they don't make them like that anymore...

Bye the way, this is like the ultimate two-buddies-on-the-road tune : D lol! Buckle up and let's head to adventure!

  • Agreed. They really haven't made a decent buddy road trip film. Traveling comedies (or movies involving unlikely friends on an adventure) are really one of my favorite genres!

R.I.P. John Candy and John Hughes!

  • A movie that doesn't quite compare but is still pretty good and along the same lines "unlikely friends" is Nothing to Lose with Tim Robbins and Martin Lawrence.

  • "Fuck."

  • "She short and skinny but she strong"

  • Every time a see a K car, this song starts going in my head.

  • MAN THAT SEAT WAS HOT

  • choon!

  • You broke the god damn seat!

  • How do you break a car seat it's impossible

  • RIP John Candy, RIP John Hughes =(

  • I have read somewhere (IMDB) that Steve Martin was so depressed after John Candy´s death that he didn´t work for a year. He even turned down the part of The Riddler in "Batman Forever".

    Which was a smart move...

  • Great memories, great times.

  • So sad to hear John Hughes died! He was the greatest writer/director of the 1980's. Made the greatest movies like Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Uncle Buck, Breakfast Club, Home Alone, Ferris Bueller and many others. He will be missed!!!!
