Magnifique, Onirique, Colorée, Jeune, les femmes des années 60 avait quelque chose que celles des années n'ont pas : une peau sans tatouage, une liberté assumée, une modernité jamais égalée.... Vive les années 60.
The cool music score by David Lucas had the first commercial use of a Moog synthesizer in one section. Lucas used a 19 yr. old guy Walter Carlos who was a tape dubber and was experimenting with Moog. It started a trend and later he recorded the famous "Switched On Bach" a successful record. Lucas went on to write "Reach Out and Touch Someone", "GE, We Bring Good Things To Life" and also discovered and produced Blue Oyster Cult and sang backup and played the cowbell on " Don't Fear the Reaper.
That was a great piece of art fashion history. It is interesting to see the textiles and patterns..I loved the peacock feather hair...wish I had that for Halloween.
Why can't women dress like this these days? Who care's if you are unique and different. Be wierd,be yourself,be outrageous. Fuck the contemporary fashion dictation today!
And clothes by the great Rudi Gernreich. You can really tell that Peggy Moffitt has a background in dance. Now we need similar films featuring mid-60s clothes of Courreges, Cardin, and Rabane.
Finally the complete basic black film! I saw this after Rudi died and asked Bill Claxton for it, he has been holding on to this tightly! Thank you for posting this!
The other models are Leon Bing and Ellen Harth. William Claxton produced, wrote and directed this genius piece of footage and it is considered to be the first Fashion Video.
Sheer bliss!!! Up 'til now I've only been able to find a miniscule thumbnail video of this on an obscure German website. Moffit/Gernreich/Claxton were the holy trinity of '60s fashion. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS!!!
Yes, that's Peggy Moffitt! But there were other well known models and actresses who participated in Blow Up, such as Veruschka, Jane Birkin, Gillian Hills, Melanie Hampshire, Jill Kennington, Rosaleen Murray and Ann Norman ;-)

@jezzzzkuuhhh -- agreed. And I'm sure that the GaGa person has had Peggy referred to her quite a while ago - might be where she got some inspiration!

@durgaaa Probably !!!! But interestingly, England was always ahead in color use and textures. We in USA are behind in the game.

Some guy named David Lucus did all the arrangements of the music. He is the same guy that wrote all the early AT &T songs.

We are overdue a fashion explosion. People today think only celebs and Artist can be flashy and use glamor.
Its time we re-visit that era and take notes.
