I don't think BC2 ever intended to beat Red Faction's Destruction. BC2's destruction is used a gameplay mechanic. In my opinion, RF's Dest. is more eye candy. Yes, it's better, but does it really make a huge difference. For the type of game it is, I don't think so.

RF:G has the most advanced use of Physic engine in todays gaymeplay. And dont forget, buildings are not just collapsing, they are performing a realtime stress test. No game has this.

If a building is essential to completing a mission and you haven't finished that mission it'll respawn i think but otherwise yeah it stays destroyed

I don't think so, but i'm not absolutely possotive as i don't own the game my self i've just done quite a bit of reading and playing at a friends place lol. The destruction game-mode thing is kinda fun though. Can't remember what it's called but it's one of the options on the main menu.

Everything is destructable (save rocks), but there are so few buildings. When technology rises, imagine whole cities like these that you can interact with.

my only beef with it is when buildings do fully come down.. it really doesn't feel like it for me. for example in the single player demo i took down the 2 story building..and it fell down like paper, just flat no smoke. no ruble left behind like a great big heap. it's quite dissapointing when they say things come down realisticly but they barely do.

it only does the if you collapse the whole first level. often when you collapse the buildings, it will not be fully destroyed and the other floors will be on the ground. this may be more realistice but it would just be rlly annoying to have that happen on any building.

Cmon ppl who say its going to be like Mercenaries2 , for god sake.. Mercenaries 2 was a shit i downloaded it from a site free ( didnt pay for that ) and it sucks.. The destruction is.. ugly.. Red faction destruction and weapons are awesome , the only mess about it is the reaction of ppl when u shot them, it does nothing and not enough blood :( Driving is a bit weird in Red faction but i like to destroy buildings with it :D Red faction >>>>>>>>>>>> Mercenaries2...
