  • I find the two piano version emphasises Grainger's sumptious harmonies. It is always tremendous to remember that Grainger collected these tunes on a wax cylinder, no harmony, sometimes even more than one person singing in different keys......which he also aurally transcribed!!

  • My fingers hurt just listening to 0:33 - 0:47. Great version! I never thought such an arrangement would sound so awesome!

  • @LilDrummerBoy74

In the wind band version, those sextuplets are in the clarinet and flute parts - and

as a clarinet player, my fingers hurt there too!

  • A nice collection of pieces.

  • Reaches the parts . . .

  • Percy Grainger was a very interesting musician , Australian and I think he was somehow connected with Grieg ? A happy English sound for two pianos in perfect harmony . Thankyou.

  • @shela2 Grieg and Grainger were always very good friends and Grieg had a big influence on Grainger. I love his music very much, and especially his folk songs.

  • Ahh how lovely, really nice performance too. Enjoyed watching this.
