I've seen MAB's Speed Kills 1. I changed the first exercise though. Since most shredders pick 3 notes on EACH string, it makes sense to play 3 notes on the next string.

in my opinion yes and when u do learn to alternate pick u will find some songs alot easier and may even enjoy playing them more.

a great way to learn is pick the G string down then up then pick the D string down then up and keep alternating between the 2 while gradually getting faster.

if you're not alternate picking you are hurting yourself because that is something you should learn in the beginning. It's real quite simple you see, after the pick goes down it goes back up and then back down... and then up, in a sort of ping-pongy motion.

yes alternet picking allows you to play extremelly fast not shreding thats not what i mean,

but it lets you play and switch from string to string at a speed you would never achive by simply just down strokes,

just start on one string going fret 1,2,3,4. 1,2,3,4. 1,2,3,4. ..... and do that alternet picking then start switching strings and you be a pro do it watching tv, best way to practice

at first you should get your picking hand at a high speed like 200bpm in tremolo picking and then start practicing with both hands and then you can combine picking exersices and lefta hand exersices.i dont know your skills so i cant really tell but if you are at 130bpm on a 12notes bar you should increase your speed in the next year at 160+ if you practice the proper way.

reposition your thumb or if needed all your hand to stop doint this because you ll have noise problem when you solo later in the future.Its a bad habbit you must stop it.

i ll upload some new exersices but i suggest to buy speed kills 3 its has over 30 EXs in it and all are interesting.About scales i suggest the ones you find most difficult like harmonic minor,major or some even weirder spanixh,persian.Just dont practice on the pentatonic minor or blues minor its a newbie scale.

good lesson but from my experience i recomend not speeding up the licks until you make a mistake then lowering the tempo again just play it nice and steady and build up your speed when your ready because theres no use doing anything to fast and earning it the wrong way but thats just my opinion anyway nice video

freddy69200, if you think Michael's fast that's 1 thing (he is one of fastest), but he's not the fastest as you advertise. His idol as well as so many other greats', Django Reinhardt is still the fastest ever depending on the piece of course. Do yourself a favor and check his music out. Unfreakinbelievable t this day. Speed, but with beauty: incredible melodicism, phrasing, and passion and fire all combined. BTW his quickness is unsurpassed as well, maybe tied by Paco DeLucia.

Something faster is likey to make you feel excitement and create a frenzy kind of mood, where as something slower and more pentatonic like slash or jerry cantrell is gonna create differnt emotions. Not trying to hate on you or anything, just a suggestion. When giving lessons, it is helpful to have a guitar with fret markers so that others can follow along easier. When playing on your own, no frets markers are fine, I have a guitar without markers on it, looks bad ass.

This may work for some people... but in all honestly it's not the best way to go about it... start out with your penotonic scales using alternative picking. Mastering all 5 of the basic Penotonic scales is the way to build up speed.
