I was a Serato loyalist until I got into video. Didn't want to get the 57 so went with another software. This totally makes me want to go back now. I'll be ordering vsl from you now. thanks again for keeping us updated.
I hear where you are coming from DjFx303 - the 57 certainly has its place - the Scratch LIVE controls are quite an excellent feature. Plus built in scratch LIVE interface - so no wire spaghetti
more open systems agreed... but at what cost... your so called alternatives wish they were as stable as ssl or vsl for that matter... why be first at something when you can be the best.. the guy even said it himself.. serato keeps features on the back burner till they feel its stable to release.. I feel the other companies failed in that respect...
no i used vinyl two decks and a mixer.. then made the switch when somethings worth buying came along... The FS came out it was a bust... VDJ the interface sucked...and in terms of your suggestion..it took a third party programmer to make something stable for someone Else's control signal... Sure ssl is expensive.. but it pays for itself in a few gigs... and besides the updates are free for life.... any dj would take quality over bells and whistles any day..
which is better, SL 1 or SL3?

PLUS since you have the 57, you wont need MIDI to make the video crossfade with the audio.

Unsure if i like the new face of the 56.
It needs to stand apart from the 57, although they're brothers they should keep their own identity, and not image the 57 so much.

so you can mix video now without the ttm57sl
you can use serato video sl with any mixer now?
sainifabulous 3 years ago
yes, you don't need the 57sl anymore. you can use ssl/vsl over the sl1. you do need a midi controller or midi mixer though.
