If you want a decent economy stop stealing money from us at the rate of 40% and let us keep the fruits of our labour. What gives you the right, as a government, to steal 40% of our income?
A flat tax rate is the fairest system, why should one person have to pay more than another for the same services (i.e. NHS, police force, fire brigade etc)? And some people pay nothing and still get the right to vote!

If a poor person was taxed at 40% they would have nothing to live on. A person on a high wage would have plenty left. Your religion greed by any chance?
