I myself love Helal food more than everybody else maybe, but before I came to the USA, i learned that we can eat the food of the people of the book, namely the Jewish and Christians. Yes, it's ok to eat ur mother's food, Yes it's ok to eat from MacDonald's. Just try to avoid the haram food, the prohibited food, like pork and others.

@ahmeds027 I don't know if I would have been able to love Islam the way I do today if I only interacted with it through the tainted eye of the media. This video was actually before I converted, I was still Christian & I wanted to take the steps of eating halal, learning how to pray, & such so that I could try and see if it was what was really what was right for me & in my heart also so it would just be like an overnight transormation. I wanted to already be a Muslim in my actions & heart first.

Alhumdulillah I'm so glad you've converted! I love converts... I truly think they are some of the strongest Muslims out there and I wish I had the strength and bravery of a convert. My mom and father were converts but unfortunately some of my brothers are moving away from Islam because they don't see what a beautiful and powerful religion this is. Anyway, remember to take your time! There's lots to learn about Islam but just go at your own pace Inshallah!
