I did too.When I was little my father had Tom Rush's version from his Ladies Love Outlaws album.And the lyrics always reminded me of my late Uncle Pat who was a war veteran who used to take me everywhere with him and tell me all kinds of old stories I could listen to for hours.Still miss him.Anyway,do you have a version of this available for download or on cd/I would gladly buy it.

Guy Clark was my uncle by marriage, I still call him uncle and last saw him at a show in Rockport TX his hometown and my hometown many years ago. This song is about my great grandmother Mimi, his grandmother's boyfriend Jack. I loved listening to his music. My best memory is he is very tall and I used to stand on his feel and dance with him. He is a remarkable man!!
