  • Funny the video is enough to give me a flashback. The first time i listened to Too Dark Park i was tripping on acid and left sitting on a chair with the lights turned off.....i felt like i was on a roller coaster to hell lmfao!!!!!

  • Nivek's voice is so crucial to what SP was..is. Before I tried recording industrial myself I had no idea. I thought a bunch of distortion, etc and anyone could do it. But actually this isn't remotely true.

Just for fun I tried to add my own vocals on this one and it shows this fact once again. No amount of ability with synthesizers or ability to compose can make up for not having the right voice.

  • Skinny Puppy Karaoke!

Actually, it is rare to get the real backing track that is used for live performances.

  • 37cd's 10dvd's 20thirts and one jacket :) thats what ive only the goddamn B&Fv1 that i dont have yet :( SP RULZ ASS

  • That is so fucking trippy.

  • the shores of pluto.. or is it nibiru?

    lolzcatz

  • Any one know where the "He's seening monsters" sample came from I've always wondered that

  • It comes from a documentary called LSD:25 :c)

  • That was very very interesting. Been a sp fan for bout 5 years now, and i must say i rather like them a lot. Good times, most people turning away at the sound, only a few of your friends staying behind to enjoy the music.

  • Every time I try to explain Skinny Puppy's sound, I have to say that it's like a bad acid trip, but so crazy all one can do is gape in awe of the insanity. I don't recommend doing a lot of hallucinogens and listening to my favorite band, it's not pretty.

  • good comment in keeping with the theme of the song, but a positive mental change sometimes is not a pretty thing. should we care overmuch about the means it comes by?

  • Well, I can tell you that when the violent icepick of LSD pierces the mind combined with the soundtrack of hell shot out of a cannon into the depths of the soul, one tends to writhe and tremble, paralysed with fear in the twisted chaos of the unimaginable world that is the "reality" we exist in. I'll never forget it. Like a bomb blowing me apart only to find all the pieces of me strewn about still work... *shudder, vomit, shudder*...

  • yer an idiot for trying such a stupid thing, sucks to be you!

  • Who asked you, asshole? If you're not here to talk about Skinny Puppy, shut your fucking cunt.

  • listen, bro, im not gonna argue with you, just go with it alright? oh and as for SP, i prefer the TDP backing tape for this song, but its still pretty good

  • Yeah, awright. Sorry for hitting you with both barrels, just been a shitty week and if I have to endure any more disparaging comments I am just going to snap. Oh, and by the way I saw the TDP backing tape and it was pretty sick, good call. Convulsion is certainly one of the best trax on Park.

  • I wouldn't call it a BAD acid trip.

I find Skinny Puppy relaxing, actually.

  • Okay, I agree. There are moments of musical forms that are very low-key, like the end of "Download" off of Last Rights. I'm sure I floated out of my body on more than one occasion upon hearing that, hee hee!

  • I find 'em relaxing, as well.

  • I'd have to agree with the bad acid trip comment. In fact, I might even consider it a terrible acid trip. But, that's probably one of the reasons i love the music/visuals- it gives me the same level of un-comfort that a good horror film does. It's sort of a nasty dose of reality... but thats just the way i look at it though.

  • yes, micheal jackson and his fans are much better.

  • So was that suppose to be funny?

  • yeah, i just checked out your profile and all y'r favorites, man...

"simple minds"? kinda sums you up, eh?

look where you leap, buck, no reason posting where ya don't belong.

  • how about...the state of "american"people and all who follow them....i think much more realistic then what you said man.

  • be4uknowshit...go watch your american idol BS..this stuff isnt for pussies!

  • Thanks for the compliment

  • be4yknowit,

Obviously, you aren't a fan of Skinny Puppy.

Consider the title of the song: "Convulsion"

Next, consider the audio clip that repeats: "He's seeing monsters. He's losing his mind; and he feels it going!"

Finally, consider the last audio clip: "He is intensely, extremely, TERRIBLY, uncomfortable."

Rather than the mindless ramblings of drug-induced youth, it's a social commentary. It's not meant to incite violence. Quite the opposite!

  • Thats so sad that you don't get it. If you knew a thing about skinny puppy you wouldn't say that. they are huge humanists and animal rights activists. They donate and belong to several human and animal rights organizations and are simply making social and political commentary

  • This is true. SP are very well known for their contributions toward animal welfare.

  • lol. so. way. off.

  • How about you slit your wrists.

"Columbine types"? You are a complete retard.

  • 28 Sins later...

  • mass derection has gone, he's seeing monsters, awsome vid

  • Holy crap, it's weird not hearing Ogre...

  • Yeah, the band's certainly missing without Goettel and Ogre. But, I don't know. Surely someone will come to pick up the reigns. It would be a shame for the concept of this band to die altogether. Skinny Puppy is immortal.

  • Missing w/o Ogre?? He is still in the band..

  • Oh, good. Somewhere along the line I heard a rumor that he left and someone took his place. I'm glad to hear otherwise, Ogre's great!

  • there are other instrumental versions of puppy songs.

  • great music!! Puppies 4ever!!

  • Awesome to hear without vocals! :-O Such a complex fucking song. Genious!
