I love this music - it's sad and uplifting at the same time. I prefer your title to the real one! I remember being more cut up about the Master's dissapearance than the Doctor's impending regeneration at the time... poor Master. Hope we see him (SimmMaster) again, would love to see him and Eleven together. Wonder if there are any vids out there (apart from the brilliant Rammstein one) that mix them both?

This was such a moving scene. It shows how complex the two Time Lords' feelings for eachother really are. There's the rivalry that we usually see then there's the almost brotherly affection, shown when the Doctor holds the Master in his final moments and again when the Master defends the Doctor from the Time Lords.

Of course, the Master probably only wanted to beat the Doctor himself but the point still stands :P

He'll be back. No doubt about it! ^_^

I think he was able to regenerate because the Eye of Harmony provided him with the power he needed inside the Tardis so he regenerated naturally because the rules binding the time lords broke when Gallifrey burnt so the doctor and the master can both live past their 13th incarnation in theory

The Master always survives. He's hit the regeneration limit loads, and once come back a a zombie. Nothings gonna stop him lol. The Docctor's little regeneration speech was a bit silly too. The Doctor always dies before regeneration. Hartnell died.. then a minute later became Troughton, Davison was poisoned and only regenerated after dieing from it, and Sylvester McCoy spent a night dead in a morgue before finally deciding that he wanted to see what life as Paul McGann was like lol :)

I think eventually what happens is his life force finally gives and he disappears, as he was only standing a few centimetres from The Doctor, I don't think he got sucked back. I really hope The Master comes back again soon with Smith, only not with Simm. Simm was great, but it'd be interesting to see how new Doctor and new Master interact. I can't imagine how Matt would react somehow, which means it's good material to put on screen lol!
