i remember doing this in school a year ago the entire southern californian area did this i saw it on the news before i left it was one crazy day but fun, now i am prepared for it and all u people who say that california is dangerous nd other places r better thats bull.... California is the best state and so r Californians!!!! We can handle anything!

Man, I wish I still lived in Cali. Things like this are just awesome, and it's great that the state can do things like this. I wish they had shirts for this. =) I'd buy one anyway.

I grew up in Cali and remember experiencing several earthquakes over many years of my life. It's been 15 years since I've even felt one (on a visit I took to Cali), and I 'miss' them in a way, but I'll tell ya, hearing the rumbling in the background while they're explaining what would happen gave me chills and goose bumps and put me right back in the middle of all the quakes I'd felt ... That IS how it sounds!!!

Good luck with your drill, everyone. This is fabulous that they're doing this!

As goofy as this vid sounds, they make good points. I barely missed being crushed to death by a large bank of filing cabinets because I changed locations during the Santa Cruz area quake some years ago. But if you have a cheesy pressed wood desk, better trade for an old-fashioned one to get under!
